Chapter 550
: Price and Society
Chapter 550: Price and Society
Hearing the order to end the get out of class, the students almost couldn't wait to run out of the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, and Wade stayed under Michael's gloating eyes.
Even if it is a special tutoring, most people would not envy the students who receive special treatment from Professor Moody.
After everyone left, Moody said to Vader in a slightly more relaxed tone: "Your spell skills are good, but you will have more opponents in my Defense Against the Dark Arts class in the future...Are you afraid?"
"Of course not," Vader said.
"Good boy." Moody grinned. "Set aside an hour every Sunday and I'll tell you what those illegal dark magic spells look like and how to deal with them."
Vader wondered, "Aren't you going to talk about this in class?"
"In the classroom? To those brats who don't even have the instinct to defend themselves?" Moody sneered and shook his head.
Wade hesitated and said, "Actually...it's not that bad, right?"
He really thought so, because many people had just used the Disarming Spell, and a few were able to cast the Shield Spell.
Wade remembered that in the original book, many people learned these two spells from Harry in their fifth year - even senior students like Qiu Zhang.
"Their spells were a little stronger than I expected, but I knew from the look in their eyes that they were just a bunch of poor little creatures wearing adult clothes. If they were dragged into the battlefield we were on at that time, they would be gone in two rounds."
Moody said with disdain: "Have they ever seen death? When they are injured, can they not scream but endure the pain and fight back immediately? After seeing the power of black magic, can they restrain their desires and not be curious and obsessed?"
Moody supported himself with a crutch and used his claw-shaped artificial leg to hook a chair to sit on. He let out an unconscious sigh.
He said slowly: "Some doors should not be opened. I have seen many young people who sink into darkness without paying attention, and then either become disabled or crazy, or end up in Azkaban... It is better to die quickly."
Wade asked, "Aren't you worried that I might perish too?"
Moody glanced at him and said, "I can tell from your eyes that you have seen darkness, but you definitely don't enjoy it... I guess you think Voldemort is a fool?"
Vader smiled but said nothing.
"Arrogance is dangerous," Moody muttered, "but it's better than being stupid and greedy."
He uncorked the bottle, raised it and took another swig.
Wade sniffed and felt as if he smelled a scent of potion.
He subconsciously glanced at the top of Moody's head again, and then he felt relieved.
Moody noticed Vader's little move and grinned, "This isn't wine... it's a price, Vader."
"cost?"
"Some injuries caused by the dark arts cannot be healed, boy. It will not just leave a scar on your body."
The muscles on Moody's face twitched slightly, and he said in a gloomy tone: "They always hurt, like ants gnawing at the cracks in your bones, like someone scraping your nerves with a blunt blade... The potion can help me suppress the pain and stay awake."
Wade looked at Moody's face and hands covered with scars, as well as his nose which was missing a large piece. He thought of this man who was always like an angry lion, and it seemed difficult for him to stand up from the chair due to the pain.
"Is there no other way?" Wade asked with concern: "The tears of the Phoenix and Unicorn who are willing to give, or the blood of the dragon..."
Moody smiled and said, "Go back, kid, don't forget to come to class on time."
Obviously, he had already tried various methods and no longer had any hope of solving the problem.
What's more, as an experienced and mature Auror, could it be that he has less experience than a student like Wade?
So Wade said nothing more and walked out of the classroom.
...When there was no class in the afternoon, Wade came to the umbrella house after a long absence with his homework and books.
As soon as I walked in, I heard Padma telling Hermione about today's class.
"…Then I used a tripping spell to get rid of Pansy. Before I could even catch my breath, the despicable Michael attacked me from behind…"
"Sorry, you're standing in a very convenient position." Michael said with a smile.
Neville said with a pale face: "So... when we have the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, we have to duel like this too?"
"Neville!" Harry put his hand on Neville's shoulder and said, "You've been to the maze many times, haven't you? How is this different from dealing with bugs in the maze?"
"It's a big difference, isn't it?" Theo next to him said speechlessly: "Some bugs even make a few noises before they attack!"
"You're not scared, Theo?" Michael said in a higher voice.
"Michael." Ryan suddenly asked, "Why did you only talk about the second time? What about your first duel? Why didn't you mention it?"
Michael: “…”
He was secretly trying his luck, thinking about how to cover up the real situation, when he suddenly saw Wade coming in. He immediately jumped up and shouted, "Good, Wade, you actually sneaked up on me!"
"Sorry." Wade said with a smile, "You were standing in a very convenient position at that time."
Michael: “…”
Padma burst out laughing, and then everyone laughed.
I was writing my paper assignment and practicing spells, and when I came to my senses, it was already time for dinner.
After dinner, it’s time for the scheduled spell tutoring.
Anthony acted quickly. At noon, he posted a message on his friend's account, saying that he had already packed up the club's classrooms. In order to apply for the classrooms, he even gave the club a simple name, "Magic Study Group".
Although Wade felt that the SSC members did not need to participate in this spell study session, since it was the first event after all, everyone still came together to watch the fun.
They climbed up to the fifth floor of the main castle, turned a few corners, and then saw a long corridor. There were various signs hanging on the doors of the classrooms on both sides of the corridor, some of which were decorated with magic, and some simply had a name written on them.
Wade saw names like the Gobstone Club, the Wizard Chess Club, the Potions Research Society, the Magical Creatures Lovers Group, the Spell Innovation Society, and there was also a sign that said Baking Magic Club. The wooden sign was made to look like a cake and gave off a sweet aroma.
It was almost to the deepest point that he saw the name of "Magic Research Society".
The ink on the wooden sign had not yet dried completely and there were some delicate patterns around it. Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that those patterns were actually coiled silver snakes.
Wade was slightly stunned. Anthony didn't even have time to write the name of the club, so how could he think of making such a small decoration?
This sign...could it be that it was already there and he just changed the name?
Vader pointed his wand at the wooden sign and whispered, "The trace has appeared!"
A faint silver light appeared under the ink, gradually forming a string of characters:
【Midnight Society·V】.
Wade looked at the last "V", and then thought about this vaguely familiar font, and the corners of his mouth twitched slightly.
Could this “V” be the “V” for Lord Voldemort?
The club activity room that Anthony applied for originally belonged to a secret society founded by Voldemort during his student days?
