Chapter 565
Seeded Players
Chapter 565 Seeded Players
"Vade!"
Before Vader could answer, he heard someone calling his name from behind.
He turned around and saw Fred and George, with grass on their heads and the smell of dragon droppings all over their bodies, walking towards Hagrid's hut with tired faces.
"Fred, George?" Wade asked curiously, "What were you two doing so early in the morning?"
"Well, we had a little curiosity last night about the magical carriage," said Fred.
"—eager to feed the old man a piece of bread," George replied.
"—and was discovered by Professor McGonagall."
"Don't mess with the guests' transportation! Mr. Weasley, why is it always you two!"
George imitated Professor McGonagall's stern tone: "Twenty points deducted from Gryffindor! Go find Professor Hagrid after dinner. He needs your help with some work!"
"-Maybe some work can consume your extra energy!" Fred concluded, then spread his hands and said: "Then we will go to fence the rune mazar-"
"—clean up the stinky dragon poop for the three-headed dragon!"
"—and the elephant! Do you know how big a pile it can make at once?"
"Stop!" Wade quickly made a stop gesture and frowned, saying, "I'm just about to go to breakfast, gentlemen!"
“All I wanted to do this morning was chew on carrots,” Fred lamented.
"I think you need to go back to the dormitory and take a shower." Wade said expressionlessly.
"Okay, that's a good suggestion." George said, and then he held out his hand: "Wade, lend me the broom, I really don't have the strength to climb the stairs."
Just then Wade's broom had not been returned to the dormitory, so he handed it to Fred. The two brothers rode on the same broom, wobbling towards the Gryffindor Tower. The crooked trajectory made people worry that they would fall from the sky.
Fortunately, the Weasley brothers had excellent flying skills, and they finally managed to get into the Gryffindor Tower successfully.
When Wade walked into the castle, he saw the Goblet of Fire placed on a stool in the middle of the hallway. If it weren't for the blue and white flame burning inside, no one would have appreciated the crude workmanship.
At this time, the students of Durmstrang were queuing up to vote. They looked serious and their movements were decisive, while the people of Ilvermorny were waiting behind them.
As each name was thrown into the flame, it quickly turned red and burst into sparks.
At some point, Theo and Ryan also came to the hallway. When they saw Wade, they walked over with a stack of parchment in their hands.
"Wader, did you see Hermione this morning?" Theo asked.
"No, what's wrong?" Wade asked.
"Great, look at this." Theo handed a piece of parchment in his hand to Wade.
Wade took it and took a look, and found that it was a new proposal written by Hermione. It used vivid words and pictures to introduce the situation of house-elves, the various unfair treatments they received, and some rare examples of elves rising up in resistance because of abuse by wizards. Finally, it called on everyone to treat house-elves well.
Then Ryan coughed dryly and said as if reciting a line: "Dear friend, every life deserves respect, and so do house-elves. They also yearn to be loved and respected. Loyal and capable house-elves deserve it all!" "Treat the elves well, and you can get more loyal service; abuse the elves, and they will get tired of their work, and even escape and rebel! Improving the quality of the elves will benefit both the elves and ourselves!"
"I suggest that you start with some small things: provide the house-elves with enough food and water, give them a comfortable place to rest, let them dress decently, and don't force them to do things they don't want to do..."
Wade couldn't help laughing: "Are you helping Hermione distribute flyers? How did she convince you to help?"
Ryan looked up at the ceiling, and Theo smiled bitterly: "I don't know what happened, but I just took it without realizing it."
"Well, what she's doing now is much better than her previous plan." Wade folded up the proposal and put it in his pocket.
The two groups had already voted, and Wade threw the parchment in his hand in, then walked into the auditorium while talking to Theo.
His movements were so natural and casual, completely different from the cautious or exaggerated movements of others. Even Theo, who was walking beside him, didn't realize it and was still talking about Hermione's SPEW.
"Hermione said this is a good opportunity. While other schools are here, we can spread the idea of improving the treatment of house-elves around the world."
Theo said with some annoyance, “Of course, I think her idea is good, but other people always think we are crazy and stupid.”
Ryan said: "Stick to the right thing, even if you are regarded as crazy. I never understood why Hermione was a Gryffindor before, but now I finally understand."
After entering the auditorium, everyone found that the decoration here had been changed to Halloween style. The candles above their heads were shining green, a large group of live bats were flying around the ceiling, and hundreds of little people carved from pumpkins were placed in every corner of the auditorium.
Mando and the students of the Institute of Magic were already having breakfast, but this time, the cafeteria did not prepare foreign food of various flavors for these foreign students. Many people frowned and looked at the baked potatoes or steaks on the plates with disgusted expressions.
Wade and the other two sat casually at the long Hufflepuff table. McMillan leaned closer and said, "Did you see those students from the School of Magic? I heard that the youngest of them is only thirteen years old!"
"You're participating in this competition at the age of thirteen?" Ryan asked in surprise, "Aren't you afraid of getting into danger?"
"Don't underestimate the people in that school. I heard that they entered the school at the age of seven. So even though they sound thirteen years old, they actually have been studying magic almost twice as long as us!"
McMillan said with a serious look: "That thirteen-year-old boy also wore a golden robe!"
"Gold robe?" Theo didn't understand.
"In the magic school, only if they get the best grades in all subjects will their robes turn golden... Do you understand now?" McMillan said.
Theo thought for a moment and said, "But I think Viktor Krum is more powerful."
"That's because you only see the big star and don't pay attention to the others."
Hannah Abbott also said mysteriously: "There is a student in Uagadou who is at least two meters tall. It feels like he can kill a Tebo warthog with one punch. He looks like he is almost 30 years old. He is also one of the participating students this time."
"There is also Seraphina Picquery from Ilvermorny. I heard that she is the niece of the Chairman of the Magical Congress of the United States of America and has great magical abilities..."
Everyone was discussing enthusiastically the "seed players" from each school. Wade simply couldn't understand where they got so much information in just one night.
But he was not unfamiliar with these names. In the information Antoine had given him before, the students from each school who were most likely to become warriors had already been marked.
Strictly speaking, these students certainly couldn't withstand a single blow from the Flame God. But this match would be broadcast live to the entire magic world, and Vader couldn't just burn his opponent to ashes on the field.
His eyes slowly swept across several long tables, and many people suddenly felt a chill on their backs, as if they were being targeted by some natural enemy.
