Chapter 361
Sorting: Gryffindor
Chapter 361 Sorting: Gryffindor
The young wizard standing at the door had golden brown hair and extremely pale skin. When the light shone on it, one could faintly see the blue veins.
He was wearing a brand new black school robe without any extra decorations, and his posture seemed a bit arrogant.
Being stared at by many students and teachers, he did not show any fear or embarrassment, but waved his hands generously and said happily to everyone: "Hello!"
Many Gryffindor students subconsciously followed suit and waved. The Hufflepuffs also smiled friendly, while the Serpents and Eagles continued to observe.
Professor McGonagall frowned and glanced around. After the students quieted down, she said, "Follow me, Mr. Johnson."
The two walked to the front, where Filch placed a small stool, and Professor McGonagall took the Sorting Hat from Dumbledore.
Before entering the door, Caryl had already learned the sorting process from Professor McGonagall. He took the dirty hat, made a disgusted "tsk" sound, and then put it on his head.
The pointed hat twisted slightly on his head, as if he was in great difficulty.
As time passed, Wade heard Ron Weasley mutter, "Is there something wrong with the hat? After all, it's been over a thousand years..."
It was unknown whether the Sorting Hat was trying to prove itself, but before Ron could finish his words, the Sorting Hat shouted, "Gryffindor!"
Suddenly, warm applause broke out from the Gryffindor table. The Weasley twins slapped the table and shouted, "I knew it! He's a Gryffindor at first glance!"
Harry clapped hard too - it had taken him a long time to sort into the houses himself, and he felt a sense of kinship when he met students who had given the Sorting Hat a similarly difficult decision.
Caryl held on to his hat, as if unaware that the Sorting ceremony was over, until Professor McGonagall forcibly pulled it out of his hands.
"Oh, damn boy!" said the Sorting Hat angrily. "He's almost tearing me apart!"
Professor McGonagall suppressed her anger and didn't want to scold the freshmen on the first day. She said seriously: "Mr. Johnson, you can sit at the Gryffindor table!"
"Okay, professor." Khalil replied in a polite manner.
Professor McGonagall gave him a long look, picked up her hat and stool, and strode away.
Khalil found an empty seat and sat down, shaking hands with the student nearby. Before they had time to introduce themselves to each other, a sumptuous dinner appeared on the long table, with more variety than usual.
The students cheered and ate with relish.
Fred leaned over and took a piece of beef, and said to Caryl with a gloating look, "Good job, provoking Professor McGonagall as soon as you get here - why are you holding the Sorting Hat?"
"I'm just chatting with it." Khalil said with a smile: "This is the first time I've seen such a smart hat. It seems to be able to see through people's brains."
The Gryffindors were not interested in the subject.
Angelina said, "Hello, I'm a Johnson too - Angelina Johnson. I've been at Hogwarts for so long, but this is the first time I've seen a transfer student - which school did you go to originally?"
Khalil said, “I came from America.”
"Is it Ilvermorny?" Percy showed off his knowledge. "I heard that school was modeled after Hogwarts and is also divided into four colleges. Which college are you from?"
"I'm not studying at Ilvermorny," Caryl explained. "I'm learning from a teacher."
"Oh, teaching from master to apprentice? There are not many people doing this now..." Percy nodded in understanding.
Harry asked Ron beside him quietly, "Besides Hogwarts, are there many other magic schools?"
"Of course, we're not the only country with magic schools, are we?" Ron counted. "I know there's Ilvermorny in the United States, Beauxbatons in France, and Durmstrang in Scandinavia. They're all well-known magic schools."
"I know about Durmstrang," said Harry. "I remember Malfoy wanted to go to that school."
"Yes, because they teach the Dark Arts..." Ron shook his head and said, "Even if you give me money, I won't go to that school."
"Dark magic..." Harry was stunned.
"There's also a Cass... Castro or something in Brazil." Ron couldn't quite remember, so he explained, "Bill had a Brazilian pen pal who graduated from that school."
"Castrobushe." Fred next to him corrected him, and then said: "Also, I heard that there is a Uagadou magic school in Africa, and they are very good at self-transformation..."
The students' discussion turned to the world-renowned magic schools. Harry's eyes were opened. It was the first time he knew that there were so many schools that were different from Hogwarts.
Halfway through the meal, Caryl asked Fred beside him: "I know we are Gryffindor, so which table is Ravenclaw?"
Fred pointed behind him with his thumb. "It's the one next to it - the bronze and blue ones. The yellow and black ones are Hufflepuffs, and the remaining one is the sinister Slytherin! They will cause trouble for you for no reason, so remember to fight back fiercely!"
Caryl didn't listen carefully to what he said. He turned his head and looked around the Ravenclaw table. The identical school robes seemed to blur the faces of the people.
He asked again: "I heard that Weed Grey is in Ravenclaw. Where does he sit?"
"Hmm? Wade? Are you his fan?" Fred looked up and pointed: "He's sitting over there - the one with black hair."
Khalil looked over and finally found his target among the crowd.
Just at this moment, Wade seemed to sense their gaze and raised his head, and the two men met eyes.
After more than two years, both of them have grown up a lot, but their appearance has not changed much.
Then, Khalil raised his hands in joy and shouted, "Ved!"
Everyone looked over, but he completely ignored them, picked up his plate, and walked through the aisle in the middle of the long table.
Michael raised his eyebrows, looked at the transfer student walking over here with a plate, and said with a bright smile: "Long time no see!"
Wade glanced at the teachers who were also paying attention to this side, exhaled silently, and said, "Long time no see."
Khalil looked at Michael and said to him, "Hi, can I switch seats with you?"
Michael sneered: "No."
"Okay." Khalil was not disappointed. He shrugged and asked the student on the other side: "Hello, can you change seats?"
It was a little boy from the lower grade. He was already nervous because he was sitting next to Wade. He nodded immediately after hearing what was said, picked up his plate and ran to the end of the long table.
Then Khalil sat down calmly and took another piece of bread.
"Honestly, I thought Britain was a hell for food! I didn't expect the food at Hogwarts is pretty good."
Khalil took a bite of bread, and seeing that Wade was still staring at him, he asked bluntly, "Why do you look like that, Wade? Don't you welcome me? I missed you when I was in America!"
