Chapter 759
Dumbledore's Commission
Chapter 759 Dumbledore's Commission
Wade peeled back the unique sealing wax, unfolded the envelope, and as he took out the letter, he discovered that there was something heavy inside.
Wade picked up the letter and tilted it down, and a small metal pendant fell out with a clatter.
This is a common accessory among teenagers. The silver metal is twisted into several rings of different sizes and interlocked together, with a small sword in the center. At first glance, it has a cool feel to it.
The instant Vader's fingertips touched it, he immediately recognized what it was—
A door key that has been enchanted with a powerful ignore spell.
His heart tightened slightly, and his fingers quickly unfolded the entire letter.
……
Dear Wade:
I hope you have a wonderful holiday, but please forgive me, I have to ask you to temporarily put aside your relaxing holiday life and take a long trip.
For reasons we both know, I am currently unable to leave the UK. Therefore, I have a favor to ask you—
I hope you can travel to the United States to attend the upcoming alchemy competition, and during this time, visit a lady privately who is one of the judges of the competition and has served as the president of the Magical Congress of the United States—Seraphina Picqueli.
My old friend has obtained some crucial information through certain channels. However, for security reasons, she cannot pass it on to me using conventional methods.
Therefore, she insisted that this information must be conveyed through the oldest and most reliable means—face-to-face conversation; and that only absolutely reliable people, who would not arouse suspicion, could bring the intelligence back safely.
At this point, I think you understand the importance and urgency of this matter, and why I entrusted it to you.
I must confess to you, my child, that my heart is filled with remorse for involving you in this matter. At your age, you should be enjoying your youth and time to the fullest, not shouldering such a heavy burden.
However, the shadows of our times often force us to make choices beyond our control, and in the current situation, you are the only person I can truly entrust with this task. I believe that your wisdom and courage far surpass your age, and that you possess all the abilities necessary to accomplish this mission.
You are not traveling alone. Alastor Moody will accompany you as your neighbor, along with your tutor, Remus. They will ensure your safety and provide full assistance for your journey.
Enclosed is a door key, which can bring you safely back to Hogwarts when you need it most.
I must emphasize this point, and I hope you will adhere to it firmly—
Wade, if the situation takes a sharp turn for the worse, you must use it immediately without hesitation. No clue or intelligence is as valuable as your own safety.
Sometimes, the wisest courage lies in knowing when to step back so that you can move forward in the future.
Wishing you all the best, and looking forward to your reply.
You are sincere.

……
Inside the alchemy chamber, a quiet had fallen. The puppets, no longer playing around, crowded around Vader, craning their necks to peek at the contents of the letter.
As Vader put down the letter, the puppet Viser turned its head, its gray eyes fixed on its master, and asked calmly and clearly:
"Have you decided to go, Master?" Wade examined the pendant, confirming it was a trigger key, then hung it around his neck and calmly replied, "Of course."
Before he could finish speaking, the cloak leaning against Viser's back suddenly rose into the air, circled once excitedly, and shouted, "Take me with you! Take me with you!"
Viser turned his head and said, "I want to go too. I can act as your double. Most people won't be able to tell the difference between us."
This suggestion seemed to have flipped a switch, and the other puppets gathered around, making various noises to express their desire to go as well.
Wade stroked the leopard cat lying on his lap, glanced at the puppets around him, and said, "Don't worry, I'll take you there... but we'll use a more discreet method."
"A way to conceal it?" the cloaked figure asked doubtfully. "Isn't the pencil case concealed enough?"
Mihar landed on a nearby pillar, and although he didn't speak, the way he tilted his head seemed to express the same question.
Wade looked at them, his thoughts briefly drifting away.
He thought of Newt Scamander, the man who guided him in creating his wardrobe space.
Scamander is blacklisted by several countries because of his suitcase, which was enchanted with a Threadless Stretch spell and contained various magical creatures.
Vader hasn't reached that point yet, because he hasn't been accused of "almost destroying a city," but the fact that he possesses a large storage space has already been revealed throughout the magical world during the last competition.
There is no doubt that since Scamander's departure from the country would be subject to strict scrutiny, Wade Gray will likely face the same fate.
Although Muggle machines cannot detect the wardrobe space, as soon as he sets foot on American soil, Ministry of Magic officials will certainly check the items he "may be carrying" from the space.
Wade wasn't afraid of the inspection, but he worried that after it was done, what he got back would be a real "pencil case," and his own treasures would disappear.
Although his puppets are not the kind of inanimate objects that will surrender easily, if they cause trouble, they will create countless obstacles for his mission.
He couldn't sneak off to America without contacting the Ministry of Magic there—this time, he had a mission and needed a legitimate identity to appear openly and honestly.
As for Muggle shipping methods... while they avoid detection by wizards, there's a risk of loss. And if he or someone close to him goes to pick up an international package, they might be targeted.
Wade has an exceptionally clear understanding of the values he now represents.
……
"So... this is the only way." Vader looked at the thin, small house-elf in front of him and asked, "Dobby, can you help me with this?"
Dobby's tennis ball-sized eyes were instantly filled with unbelievable surprise and excitement, and his big ears twitched, just like his feelings at that moment.
“Mr. Wade Gray needs Dobby’s help!”
He screamed, his voice rising in extreme excitement, as if he were almost out of breath, and then he puffed out his chest and shouted:
"Dobby swears to you! Mr. Wade Gray, Dobby will complete it for you! Complete it perfectly! Absolutely no mistakes will be made!"
"Of course, I knew you could do it."
With utmost seriousness, Wade entrusted the seemingly ordinary but actually mysterious pencil case to Dobby.
