Chapter 542
Hogwarts Dryer
Chapter 542 Hogwarts Dryer
The train slowly stopped at the platform. It was raining heavily. The raindrops hit the ground with a crackling sound, splashing circles of water.
Everyone else had returned to their compartments to pack up and change clothes. Theo stood up and prepared to get off the bus, but Michael reached out to stop him.
"Wait a minute before you go." Michael said, "The door of the carriage must be packed with people right now."
Even through the glass, you can hear the students urging and shouting in the corridor.
Theo sat down, and then stood up from time to time to look outside as if there was a hedgehog hidden under his butt. After a long time, he saw that the flow of people in the corridor had finally decreased a lot, so he hurriedly said:
"Everyone has basically gotten off the bus, so let's go quickly."
Ryan smiled and stood up, followed by Vader.
Michael sighed and said to Wade, "Actually, I'd rather wait until everyone has left before getting off the train. The school won't leave us on the train anyway."
"Okay, get up." Ryan reached out and tore him off his seat.
Wade pulled his raincoat out of his pocket, shook it back to its original size, and asked Michael, "Do you need a raincoat?"
When getting in the car, only Michael was soaked, obviously because he didn't bring an umbrella when he went out.
Michael smiled and said, "I've been practicing Transfiguration quite well recently. Let me show you."
He pulled a Chocolate Frog wrapper from the table and pointed his wand at it, mumbling a Transfiguration spell.
After a while, the wrapping paper gradually grew larger and turned into a cyan-blue cloak covered with golden patterns.
Ryan, who was waiting at the door, gave a thumbs up: "Beautiful!"
Michael raised an eyebrow, put on his cloak and said, "I hope you are really complimenting my Transfiguration skills, not the pattern of this cloak."
He walked to the front, and Vader, who was following behind him, couldn't help laughing - there was a silly frog printed on the back of his cloak.
When he arrived at the door of the carriage, there was indeed a small group of people gathered there. Wade waited for a while before finally stepping out of the carriage.
Standing on the dark platform, he finally understood why the students were so slow - many senior students were holding leaf umbrellas or flower umbrellas in their hands, and were deliberately walking slowly along the edge of the platform to show off the results of their transfiguration skills!
"Wade, they stole your idea!" Michael said angrily.
"Hurry up," Ryan urged, "I'm almost freezing to death."
When walking from the platform to the Thestral carriage, Wade discovered that some people's Transfiguration skills were not up to standard. The leaf umbrellas that had been stretched out at the beginning had become limp, and more rain had accumulated in the center of the leaves. Suddenly, the leaves tilted to the side, and the cold rain soaked the students below from head to toe.
Michael couldn't help laughing, and with lingering fear he wrapped the wrapping paper cloak a little tighter.
Not only was it raining heavily along the way, but there was also strong winds. The wind and rain blew towards everyone from all directions, and umbrellas were useless.
Fortunately, the manufacturer of the Chocolate Frog was conscientious and coated the wrapping paper with a layer of wax to make it waterproof and moisture-proof. When the carriage wobbled into Hogwarts, Michael's cloak was not soaked by the rain.
No one stopped at the door. Wade got off the carriage and quickly climbed the steps, walked into the castle, passed through the entrance hall and entered the warm auditorium, then he breathed a sigh of relief.
He greeted Theo and the others, took off his cloak and walked towards the Ravenclaw table, shrinking and folding the cloak at the same time.
As soon as they found an empty seat and sat down, they heard a scream coming from the door. Then Harry and others rushed into the auditorium covered in water, and several fifth-year girls ran after them screaming.
"Hey, you guys, what's going on in the hallway?"
Fred asked loudly with curiosity as they walked through the aisle between the long tables.
"Peeves is throwing water bombs everywhere." Ron said angrily, "What bad luck..." They sat at the Gryffindor table, with their backs to Wade. Maybe there was water in their socks, so they made a squeaking sound when they walked.
Harry was taking off his shoes and pouring out the water when a boy came up to him and said excitedly, "Harry, guess what? My brother is also enrolled! My brother's name is Dennis!"
Vader's fingertips trembled slightly, and he turned his head to look at the boy.
Colin Creevey, he and his brother were both fans of Harry Potter, and if I remember correctly, both died in the final war.
When they died, the brothers were not even adults yet.
"Hi, Colin." Michael turned around and said with a grin, "You didn't bring your camera? Don't you want to take a precious photo of Harry Potter, the wet version of Harry Potter?"
"Hey, Michael!" Harry shouted.
"Good idea!" Colin's eyes lit up, and he looked at Harry eagerly, raised his camera and asked, "Can I take a picture? Just one?"
"Thanks, but no, Colin," Harry refused decisively, putting his cold, wet sneakers back on.
As they were talking, the door of the auditorium suddenly opened, and Professor McGonagall led a group of freshmen in. The students immediately quieted down and looked over there.
The children looked as if they had been fished out of the water, shivering with cold, and one of the new students, wearing Hagrid's moleskin coat, gestured excitedly to Colin.
"I fell into the lake!" he mouthed happily.
As Professor McGonagall led the freshmen to the front and took out the Sorting Hat, Harry stretched out his arm and tugged at Wade's sleeve.
Wade turned around and saw Harry whispering, "Help, Wade, we are all soaked."
On the train, Michael also enthusiastically explained to them the warm wind spell that Vader created himself. If there was a way to dry clothes, who would be willing to endure the feeling of cold clothes sticking to the body?
"Oh, Harry," Nearly Headless Nick said helpfully, approaching him. "I can get you a couple of candles if you need them."
The corners of Harry's mouth twitched, and Hermione interrupted, "Thanks, Nick, I think we need help a little quicker."
She twisted the hem of her robe in annoyance. Her hair was still dripping with water, so wet that it looked like freshly fished seaweed.
Vader smiled, pulled out his wand, and turned his wrist: "Warm breeze."
A swirling stream of hot air blew out from the tip of the wand, sweeping over Harry and Hermione like a wave, and in an instant it covered the entire hall.
Amid the whirling sound of the wind, the Sorting Hat, which was just about to sing, opened its mouth, and the heat current made its body swell; many girls screamed, and the hair sticking to their faces instantly became fluffy and soft; Professor McGonagall's pointed hat suddenly flew up, but she reached out and grabbed it in time.
At the Slytherin table, Malfoy's neat hair became like a dandelion, while Pansy next to him looked more like a poodle.
Professor Snape's robes suddenly opened up in the teacher's seat, but he immediately pressed them back down, then he glared at Wade fiercely.
Professor Dumbledore, on the other hand, reacted quickly. He reached out and pressed his beard in time to prevent his carefully groomed beard from being messed up, and then squinted his eyes comfortably.
Above the auditorium, the flames of the candles also flickered, but did not go out. Only a few bats seemed to be frightened and suddenly flew over.
After a while, the whirlwind dissipated and the whole hall fell silent. The first-year students fumbled with their dry clothes in a daze, and several young wizards from the Muggle world had eyes that sparkled surprisingly.
