Chapter 726

Going to meet someone

Chapter 726 Going to see someone
"Regardless of the possibility..."

Dumbledore's voice sounded exceptionally clear: "It all means that we may be facing a threat even more terrible than Voldemort or Grindelwald."

Wade's heart sank. The summer sun shone through the window onto him, but it couldn't dispel the chill that spread from the bottom of his heart.

He thought of Harry from the original book.

Under the headmaster's arrangement, the savior walked forward in a daze, always complaining that Dumbledore didn't tell him anything and that he was kept in the dark until he was forced to face the storm and learned the truth, and then he defeated his opponent in a confused state.

Now it seems that knowing everything isn't as good as it seemed...

At least when Harry knew nothing about it, he still had the mood to fall in love, play Quidditch, argue with friends, worry about homework and exams... and be annoyed that Dumbledore had kept the truth from him.

The price of obtaining the intelligence was that he knew a storm was coming, but he didn't know when it would arrive. He couldn't detach himself like a reader and observe the story unfold, nor could he experience the simple joy and anxieties like Harry.

His choices may affect the future fate of many people, and the real world is becoming increasingly different from the original story, making it impossible for him to see all the moves clearly. But even with his eyes closed, he must still move forward.

Dumbledore collected the time particles back into the kettle, then tapped the kettle lightly with his finger, producing a clear, low hum.

“When problems are destined to happen, sitting at home and worrying won’t help,” Dumbledore said. “There is something else that needs to be dealt with right now.”

“Another thing?” Wade thought for a moment and said, “The puppets told me they didn’t kill Barty Crouch Jr.”

This was the thing he believed Dumbledore was most likely to "talk" to him alone.

“Oh, I know, Crouch was killed by someone else,” Dumbledore said. “We need to go see someone now.”

Wade asked in confusion, "Who is it?"

“I think you should remember that there was another person present at the monastery,” Dumbledore said. “A person locked in a confessional.”

Wade immediately remembered.

Behind the wooden door, there were strange groans, bloodshot eyes, and a strong smell of blood...

Any one of those images is enough to give someone a nightmare.

“Who is that?” Wade asked.

“An old friend of mine,” Dumbledore sighed, “has, as you can see, endured…unimaginable torment. Even now, fear still haunts him, trapping him in nightmares…unable to wake.”

The headmaster's gaze fell on Wade, and he said, "You and your puppet saved him, Wade. I hope you can come with me to see that man and give him some courage, and of course Harry—young people like you might be more effective for him than tranquilizers."

“I understand.” Wade naturally wouldn’t refuse such a small matter. He nodded and said, “Shall we set off now?”

No sooner had he finished speaking than his stomach suddenly let out a loud protest, a sound that seemed particularly abrupt in the quiet office. It made a portrait of a female principal wearing a lace hat on the wall chuckle, and Phineas chuckled even more.

The heavy atmosphere in the office vanished instantly, leaving only Wade looking embarrassed. He now regretted not eating the sandwich his mother had prepared before leaving the office.

“I think,” Dumbledore said, a gentle smile flickering in his eyes, “let’s go after lunch. Remember to call Harry to come with me… By the way, the chocolate cauldron cake at lunchtime was quite good; I recommend you try it.”

Wade walked toward the auditorium.

When they left the infirmary earlier, because Dumbledore was right next to them, the students would avoid him from a distance or stand on the side of the corridor and politely greet him.

At that moment, Wade felt as if he had been thrown into a boiling vortex. As he passed by, everyone looked at him, and countless eyes followed his movements. After he passed, a buzzing whisper would immediately erupt behind him.

Some people would wave excitedly, eagerly awaiting his response. Even as Wade walked past with unwavering eyes, they would suddenly become even more excited and start chattering to those around them.

Some people would show fear, instinctively avoiding eye contact with him, and nervously whisper to their friends, "I think he's terrifying... The puppet treats other warriors so cruelly..."

Ignoring the various reactions of those people, Wade quickened his pace through the corridor, when suddenly a commotion arose ahead. Before he could react, two red-haired figures rushed in front of him.

"Silence! Silence!" George waved his arms dramatically and shouted, "Make way! The King of Puppets has arrived!"

"Both of you bow!" Fred followed suit, raising his wand high and shouting, "If you want to live, hand over all the Galon, Sieg, and Nat in your pockets, and Lord Vader might spare your lives..."

Wade felt his ears burning and, unable to bear it any longer, raised his hand and gave both of them a flick on the forehead.

"Ouch!" Fred clutched his head and staggered backward, collapsing towards George beside him. "I...I'm dead..."

He tilted his head and stuck out his tongue. George shouted with great emotion, "No—Fred—No—"

"Hahahaha..." Fred, who was pretending to be dead, couldn't hold back and burst into laughter, which immediately caused a burst of laughter in the corridor.

Upon arriving at the Great Hall, almost all the familiar faces were there. Harry had only been in the Great Hall for a short time when he was surrounded by onlookers and questioned.

A Gryffindor student tugged at Harry's sleeve, trying to stop him from leaving, persistently asking about the scene of his "resurrection." Harry's face was filled with embarrassment.

Just as he was struggling, a sharp voice suddenly burst out:
"Get out of the way! Harry Potter isn't a clown performing for you in a circus!" Ginny snapped. "If you keep bothering him with all these questions, I'll turn your tongue into a slug!"

The entire Great Hall fell silent for a moment. The Gryffindor, intimidated by her imposing presence, involuntarily took a few steps back. Harry seized the opportunity to pull back his sleeve, secretly relieved, and quickly sat down next to Wade.

“Merlin!” Ginny, sitting on Harry’s other side, couldn’t help but complain, “Harry, you’re willing to fight even Mystic head-on, why can’t you be a little tougher on those nasty guys?”

Harry seemed to be meeting Ginny for the first time, remaining timid and speechless.

Ginny suddenly realized who she was talking to, blushed, quickly stood up, and rushed to the other side of the Gryffindor table.

Fred put his arm around Harry's shoulder and said, "Congratulations on getting to know our little sister again."

“That’s right, this is Ginny Weasley.” George nodded in agreement, “The most terrifying person in the Weasley family!”

Harry: "..."
