Chapter 830

Wade's Decision

Chapter 830 Wade's Decision

The principal's office was as warm as ever, with various silverwares making a soft, tinkling sound, and portraits of past principals snoring evenly in their respective frames.

Dumbledore's number of puppet pets had increased to more than a dozen. He created a large space for them behind the curtain, which looked almost like a miniature village.

Upon hearing the door open, Phineas Black—Sirius's arrogant ancestor—was jolted awake from his slumber.

"Ah... look who it is, our champion has returned from that barbaric colony?"

Phineas said in a drawn-out, sarcastic tone:

"I heard you got into big trouble on your way back. Are the officials from the Ministry of Magic already on their way?"

This is one of the aftereffects of Wade participating in the league and winning the championship.

The two people in the school who cared most about Slytherin honor, Phineas Black and Severus Snape, would occasionally trigger their "sour remarks" whenever they saw him.

As for Harry... Harry has always regarded Slytherin as his enemy, so he didn't feel any obvious difference.

Wade glanced at Phineas Black indifferently and said, "If you're hoping to see me in jail in a sorry state, you're in for a bad time. The officials at the Ministry of Magic are probably better at distinguishing right from wrong than you are."

Phineas was speechless at Vader's retort, his eyes darting around, about to say something, when he heard Dumbledore say:

“Phineas, if the Ministry of Magic really wants to investigate the hijacking incident, I think the first person they should look for is me.”

Dumbledore took the Pensieve from the cupboard and placed it on the table, saying, "How about we focus our energy on something more worthwhile?"

Phineas shut his mouth sullenly, muttering grievances within the frame. Some of the portraits quietly opened their eyes, glanced at the faces of the group, and then resumed their feigned sleep.

“Let’s see what message Ms. Picquarly sent you back with, Vader,” said Dumbledore.

Vader nodded, drew his wand, and gently tapped it on his temple.

As he removed his wand, a memory, shimmering with a pearly luster like a silver spider silk, was slowly drawn out. The thread fell into the Pensieve, where it coiled, gathered, and finally formed a constantly flowing and swirling silver mist.

Dumbledore was the first to immerse himself in this silver memory, followed by Vader.

……

"Hurry up, Jason! Don't stop, keep going!"

The soldier, his face covered in sweat and dust, roared hoarsely, wisps of smoke rising from the muzzle of his gun.

On the streets ravaged by artillery fire, charred vehicle wreckage resembled twisted metal tombstones, and sporadic gunshots and faint cries could still be heard in the distance. Many buildings were engulfed in flames.

The sudden war scene made Dumbledore feel as if he had been transported back decades. His pupils contracted, his breath caught in his throat, and some memories buried deep in his heart seemed to surge up.

This is the second time Wade has entered this memory.

Unlike the initial shock, this time he was able to block out the noise and carnage of the battlefield, instead using astonishing calmness and focus to record everything within his field of vision:
The street layout, the features of the buildings, the panicked shouts of pedestrians, and the slogans and shop signs on the walls stained with gunpowder smoke.

Even if he can't see the exact address information in his field of vision, he's sure he can find the location of this place in the real world just by using these clues!
As the scenes in the world of memories shifted, the timeline leaped forward in leaps. In the pitch black, Stella tearfully extracted Jason's memories. Just then, Wade's heart leaped, an indescribable tension welling up from the depths of his heart. He subconsciously took half a step closer to Dumbledore.

The principal, with remarkable acuity, turned his head and glanced at Wade.

The memory abruptly ended at that moment, and the surrounding scenery vanished rapidly like the receding tide. Wade felt himself being lifted up by an invisible force!
The next second, he found himself standing in front of the Pensieve, with Dumbledore sitting down beside him, leaning on the table. His usual gentle expression had been replaced by a deep weariness and solemnity.

The old man took off his glasses, slowly wiped them, and remained silent for a long time.

Wade pulled up an empty chair and sat down, his hands and feet still a little cold.

Jason's spirit did not appear this time...

Is it because he has already gone to the underworld?

Or is it because the Pensieve used this time is different?

But this clearly proved that what he saw last time was indeed not a fragment of memory.

After a long pause, Dumbledore put on his glasses and slowly spoke: "So, these are the fragments of the truth... darker than we anticipated..."

His gaze seemed to be fixed on a point in the void, and for a moment, Wade couldn't guess what Dumbledore was thinking.

He leaned forward slightly and said earnestly:

"Professor, I want to go to America again."

Dumbledore's brow twitched slightly, but before he could respond, Wade continued:

"The Purifiers gave me one... no, including the attack outside the hotel, it should be two gifts. I have to 'return the favor' properly."

"Furthermore, where are those guys who targeted Jensen conducting their experiments? What are they using time particles for? What secrets are hidden behind these conspiracies? We have to find out."

Dumbledore didn't immediately agree. He looked at Wade and slowly shook his head:
“Wade, do you know how dangerous your plan is? I understand your anger at being attacked by the Purge, but the follow-up investigation should be handled by more professional people. Kingsley is also contacting the Magical Congress of the United States.”

"Professor Dumbledore!"

Wade interrupted him, saying, "Do you really think those people in the Magic Congress can effectively retaliate against the Purifiers? Can they uncover their secrets?"

"Or……"

His voice was slightly low, and a hint of mockery played at the corners of his mouth:

"Are those people in the Magical Congress really cleaner and more efficient than the Ministry of Magic under Fudge's leadership?"

"The Purifiers have been developing for so many years, they might have already infiltrated the Magic Congress! I didn't disclose my return date and flight to anyone in advance, but the Purifiers were still able to place assassins in time, which is enough to prove that there are official forces working for them!"

"And that force that obtained the time particle... they even participated in wars between nations, they must be colluding with the Muggle government of the United States! And the wizards who cooperate with them may very well be from the Magical Congress!"
