Chapter 368

Broad Beans

Chapter 368 Broad Beans
Phil was startled and leaned back, then was grabbed by a hand.

"Be careful," Vader said.

When Phil turned around, he saw that he had almost bumped into the red hat of the puppet. The puppet, which was like a statue just now, turned its eyes and stared at him viciously.

The person in the mirror in front of him looked ferocious, and the puppet behind him was also murderous. Phil froze suddenly.

Wade patted the puppet's head and said, "Go wait by the wall first."

Just as Phil was about to stand up, he saw the puppet nodded obediently, walked to the wall and stood there, leaning on the wooden stick in his hand like a crutch.

Wade sat next to Phil and said, "Don't be afraid, that man is far away in London."

"Yeah." Phil nodded and leaned closer to Wade unconsciously.

……

In the dilapidated building, Claire rushed to the window and saw an owl squatting outside. It was not startled by her movements, but just tilted its head to look at her.

"It's okay, it's an owl."

Claire turned around and said something to her companion. Then, she turned around and saw the owl modestly raising one of its claws, which held a letter and a snakeskin bag.

"A letter from a wizard?"

Fatos limped to the window and said angrily: "You also started to contact the wizard? Don't you know how those people see us? Have you forgotten the harm they have caused you?"

"I remember, of course I remember." Claire said, "But I believe that not every wizard is bad! And if we want to escape the fate of being werewolves, only wizards can do it!"

"The wizards have no solution!" Fatos roared, "It's been thousands of years. If they had a solution, there would be no werewolves in the world!"

He looked as grumpy as a bear, but Claire was not afraid at all. She retorted while reading the letter:

"Just because there hasn't been one before doesn't mean there won't be one in the future! Looking at the changes in the world, I think everything is possible."

"Will thought so too, but where is he now?" Fatos said angrily, "I can't let you become like him!"

Claire ignored him. After reading the letter, she fed the owl some dried meat, then quickly found a scarf and wrapped it around her head and neck, leaving only her head and a pair of eyes exposed.

"You're going to Diagon Alley?" Fatos said hurriedly, "What does the letter say? Don't go! Or when I get better, I will..."

"You think too much." Claire said, "No one asked me to meet him, but he sent me a reward. I will buy you some medicine - a real magic potion. Your injury will heal in no time."

She pulled out her purse and showed it to him. The small pile of golden Galleons almost dazzled Fatos' eyes.

After Claire finished speaking, she ran down the stairs quickly without waiting for Fatos to stop her, and her footsteps became farther and farther away.

Fatos stood stiffly for a while, turned around and saw the owl was still on the windowsill. He walked a few steps closer, pulled out a piece of notepaper, and wrote a line of words on it in a sloppy handwriting -

[If you have any problem, come to me. Don't hurt Claire! I'm a werewolf too! ]

He rolled up the note casually and stuffed it to the owl, but the owl refused to take it.

Fatos understood: "You want a reward? The wizard's owls are so cunning..."

While complaining, he took out the jerky, tore off a long strip and fed it to the owl.

"Go, little devil! Take the message to your master - tell him to come to me if anything happens! If anything happens to Claire, I will hunt you down to the ends of the earth!"

The owl picked up the jerky and the letter, then spread its wings and flew high into the sky.

It flew high and soon saw Claire running down the street again.

The bulky scarf is a bit of an eyesore, but there is no other choice. People with lycanthropy are actually different from ordinary people in their normal state. Some parts of their appearance become similar to wild wolves.

Some people's degree of alienation is very mild, with only a little abnormality, which is not easy to be seen, so they can easily hide among ordinary people or wizards, such as Will or Lupin.

There are also some people whose abnormalities are very obvious. Their forehead, eyes, nose, teeth, ears, every part may become unusual, making their identity recognizable at a glance.

There were obvious changes in Claire's mouth and nose, making it easy for wizards to recognize her as a werewolf - wizards' children have to learn how to identify and kill werewolves starting in the third grade.

Although the Ministry of Magic has now introduced some laws prohibiting wizards from harming non-human magical creatures, there are still many people who are proud to hunt werewolves.

Therefore, Claire could only choose to work in the society of ordinary people - Muggles didn't know that there were really werewolves in the world, they just thought she was a strange girl with a special appearance.

She found some work that allowed her to do it while wearing a mask and was able to make a living.

But if she wanted to exchange for wolfsbane potion, she would need to travel back and forth between the wizarding world and go to Gringotts to exchange for Galleons. Every trip to Diagon Alley was like an adventure for her.

Ava looked away.

The letter has been sent and the reply has been received, and it can't wait to return to its owner.

So it didn't stop, but turned and flew towards Hogwarts.

Seeing the picture turn into white clouds and mist, with vast farmland visible occasionally, Wade put away the flowing mirror.

"Is that all right?" Phil asked.

"Yes." Wade smiled and said, "Thanks for your help, Phil."

"You're welcome, Phil, I'm glad to help." Phil said shyly, "Phil is going to work. Zoe and Happy helped to complete all the work today."

"Then I have to thank them. Of course, you are the one who helped the most." Wade turned around and asked, "Phil, is there anything you want? I can buy it for you."

"Phil...um...Phil..."

The house-elf staggered, as if he wanted to say something but was trying hard not to say it.

Wade already knew how to deal with this situation.

He said, "It's okay. I want to know. Please tell me."

After hearing these words that sounded like an order, Phil's expression became relaxed.

He twisted his long fingers sheepishly and asked in a low voice: "Phil... Phil can I have a bean?"

"——Broad beans?" Wade didn't understand: "What kind of broad beans?"

Aren’t there plenty of things like this in the kitchen?
Phil said, "They are not ordinary beans. They are... beans like Zoe... beans that can be summoned..."

Vader suddenly understood.

His first real alchemical work was not the Book of Friends, but a small, safe bean, which he gave to Zoe.

But later, he no longer had any use for it and almost completely forgot about it. Unexpectedly, the elves still remembered it.

Wade smiled and said, "Okay. You will receive this gift tomorrow morning."

Phil smiled happily.
