Chapter 474
Prophecy
Chapter 474 Prophecy
At least half of the Dementors instantly floated towards Barty Crouch Jr., and the remaining half simply felt that they could not compete with their own kind, so there was only a slight commotion.
The Aurors of the Ministry of Magic did not pay attention to these huge black figures, because just getting close to them would make people sad and painful, so the Aurors stayed far away.
He took a glance and saw that the Dementor had not run out of the designated range, so he continued to look down at the palm-sized mirror in his hand.
There was no one else around, so the Auror turned up the volume of the mirror without worry. With a silly smile on his face, he watched the blonde girl in the mirror clumsily wave her wand, and the sparks in the basin in front of her "crackled" and splashed out.
"What are you doing?" the girl's companion yelled frantically, "We need to cast an invisibility spell, not an explosion spell!"
"You idiot!" the blonde screamed. "It's not an explosion, it's fireworks!"
"What we want is invisibility! Invisibility! And you set off fireworks! Are you afraid that we won't be discovered by Filch?"
The Auror watched the video and laughed.
This is a sitcom shot by wizards themselves. Although the actors' acting skills are not very good, the real magic and various spell failures still make this show full of laughter.
As the Auror watched the video and grinned foolishly, the Dementors had already formed a circle around the wizard. It was only because they sensed a strong magical power from the wizard that they did not rush over and suck him dry.
"Wait! Wait!" Barty Crouch Jr. said as he held his wand to block the attack. "Who is your boss? I have a deal!"
I don't know if the Dementors understood or not, they were still approaching, but suddenly, they stopped.
There was a transparent spherical crystal bottle in Barty Crouch Jr.'s empty hand. There was something silvery and shining inside. From the outside, it looked like he had put the Milky Way into the bottle.
Barty Crouch Jr. raised the bottle a little higher to make sure that the Dementors around him could see it, then he slowly lowered it and finally placed the bottle on the ground.
The man took two steps back and said, "This is my sincerity - the happiest memory of my life from twelve Muggles."
The memories extracted by wizards with magic were countless times better than the emotions floating in the air. The greed and desire of the Dementors reached their peak in an instant, but they did not act on their own.
A monster that looked no different from the other Dementors, except that its cloak was darker and its figure was more graceful, stood out from the crowd. It stretched out its thin and rotten palm, and the bottle on the ground flew into its hand with a "whoosh".
Barty Crouch Jr. couldn't help but take two steps back, trying hard not to show hatred or fear on his face.
He had been in Azkaban for about a year and had experienced firsthand how terrifying these monsters were. He had absolutely no desire to experience again the torture of having all those painful memories come flooding back at once.
He was unable to use the Patronus Charm, but fortunately Voldemort taught him a dark magic related to the soul, which reduced the influence of the Dementors on him to a very weak level.
Barty Crouch Jr. lowered his eyes and saw that there seemed to be a dark light flickering on the Dementor's hand - there was a silver ring on its hand, but the ring had sunk deeply into the flesh and almost merged with it.
The monster under the cloak felt his gaze and instantly retracted its hand into the cloak. The cork flew out, and the Dementor took a slow and long breath. The silver memories in the bottle flew towards it and drilled into a deep hole.
That's the Dementor's mouth.
From the mouth upwards, it was all scabbed gray skin, with no eyes, nose or ears to be seen, just a terrifying head that only appeared in a nightmare.
Then, the silver light of memory quickly disappeared in the Dementor's mouth, and the guy let out a long sigh, as if he was satisfied, but also as if he was asking for more.
"I think you have seen it." Barty Crouch Jr. said calmly, "My master, the Dark Lord, does things differently from Dumbledore and the current Ministry of Magic."
"As long as you are willing to surrender, he can allow you to freely enjoy happiness... He can even use your soul as dinner!"
"How about it? Are you willing to trade?" Barty Crouch Jr. asked with a smile, "Or are you really satisfied with the leftovers provided by the Ministry of Magic? They don't even allow you to reproduce, right?"
After a long time, the Dementor stretched out his finger, and the black mist formed a string of thin words in the air.
【Voldemort is still alive?】
……
The news of Khalil's departure did not cause much stir. Students only discussed it briefly for a few days and soon shifted their attention to other things.
Because the Ministry of Magic did not want more people to know that Caril used the time converter to change his mother's fate, which led to his own death a year ago. Therefore, the crimes he committed and his death became secrets that could not be made public.
The news that the students heard was that Caryl chose to drop out of Hogwarts due to some family reasons, and even left the UK.
Such a hasty departure made some classmates and friends feel angry and disappointed that they were abandoned, but soon, the increasingly heavy workload made the students forget the sensitive worries of adolescence.
The final exams are approaching.
There was no chance to relax even at Easter, as professors in every subject gave students more homework. Even the usually active Weasley twins had to study hard because they were taking the Ordinary Wizarding Level Examinations.
Time is like a girl running with her skirt lifted up. Before the person left behind can pick up the crystal shoe, the beautiful figure has disappeared from sight and the exam week has arrived gloomily.
Wade received an unusual schedule. For example, at nine o'clock in the morning on the first day, he had to take exams in Arithmancy and Transfiguration at the same time. At one o'clock in the afternoon, he had exams in Charms and Ancient Runes.
Fortunately, for Wade, taking exams has never been a difficult task. Of course, grades are not that important to him now.
The last exam was Divination and Muggle Studies. Although the two exams were held at the same time, even without a time converter, it would not prevent students from taking the exams on time.
Because students taking the Divination exam had to do it one by one, Weed went to the Muggle Studies classroom first.
The exam was very simple, a mostly multiple-choice test paper, followed by identifying the names and uses of several Muggle items, such as mobile phones, power strips, desk lamps, etc., and finally matching yourself with a set of normal clothing for Muggle society.
In Wade's opinion, this test was not even an easy one, and a trained monkey could complete it easily.
But when he saw one of his classmates pairing a flannel nightgown with green leather pants, he realized that he was thinking too simply.
"It's meaningless, isn't it?" Hermione, who also came to take the exam, said to Wade after walking out of the classroom: "Although Muggle society is quite interesting from a wizard's perspective, it's a complete waste of time for you and me."
"Didn't you give up this course?" Wade asked casually.
"Yes, I've already told Professor Bubbage that I haven't been to class recently." Hermione said, "But after all, I've been studying for half a year, and I still want to finish this course from beginning to end."
Wade was still looking back at the classmate who had made such a weird match. His brain seemed to tell him that there was no problem, but his eyes said that there was a big problem. So the classmate hesitated, found a lady's wide-brimmed hat with long feathers, and tried to put it on the dummy's head.
Wade looked at Hermione incredulously and said, "Even if he has never seen a Muggle, doesn't he have a normal aesthetic sense?"
"Maybe he has a very good 'aesthetic'." Hermione suppressed her laughter and said, "He wants to get a higher score by dressing fashionably."
Wade frowned and asked in confusion: "Fashion?"
"Haven't you ever seen a fashion show on TV, Wade?" Hermione gestured, "It's... it's one of those creative fashion shows."
Vader suddenly realized.
When they reached the second floor, he turned towards the north tower where the Divination classroom was located, but Hermione headed towards the library.
"Not taking the divination test?" Wade asked.
"I don't want to see Trelawney at all," said Hermione with disgust. "She's just a complete old liar."
Wade raised an eyebrow: "What about your beginning and end?"
"Divination doesn't count." Hermione waved her hand and walked backwards to the other end, spreading her hands and saying, "Honestly, Wade, you don't have to put up with her nonsense for the sake of twelve OWLs certificates."
"Okay...but divination is still quite interesting to me."
Wade waved goodbye to Hermione and walked up the spiral staircase. There were still several students lined up outside the Divination classroom, and Ron and Harry were at the end of the line.
They pulled a student who was coming down the stairs and asked quietly, "How did you do on the exam?"
"Professor Trelawney won't let me talk about it. But..." Padma moved closer and whispered, "Crystal ball divination."
"You're crazy!" Lisa pulled Padma and said fearfully, "Didn't the professor say that anyone who reveals the contents of the exam will encounter terrible things?"
"Come on, don't be like my sister." Padma said nonchalantly, "I don't believe I'll be in any danger like this... unless Professor Trelawney curses me personally - Hey, Wade!"
She said hello cheerfully to Wade, and then went downstairs with Lisa, who overheard them discussing what they should buy to take home during their last Hogsmeade weekend.
"Crystal ball divination!" Ron's face was not looking good: "I can't see anything from inside!"
"Me too." Harry encouraged him. "Use your imagination, Ron! Didn't you say last time that you saw some special images in the crystal ball?"
"Yes," said Ron. "I saw a spider with eight eyes playing tug-of-war with a Chocolate Frog. I don't think Professor Trelawney would like that."
Lavender, who was in the front row, burst out laughing and turned around to ask curiously, "And then? What did you say?"
"I said I saw myself being chased by a giant spider." Ron said palely, "Professor Trelawney gave me an excellent grade for the first time."
Harry patted him on the shoulder cheerfully. "See, that wasn't hard at all, was it?"
Ron sighed inexplicably.
Harry was rarely chased by Trelawney to predict various death consequences this year, especially in the second semester. His Divination class became almost as normal as other classes, which made Harry feel good about this course.
Compared to Hermione's courses that required a lot of memorization and calculation, Harry felt that Divination, where he could complete the homework as long as he could make up something, was very friendly. He turned to the back and asked, "Wade, what can you see from the crystal ball?"
Wade was silent for a moment, then said, "Similar to Ron. Observe the shape of the mist and imagine a similar object - mostly animals, but sometimes daily necessities, and then expand on it based on the interpretation in the textbook."
"Oh... interpretation..."
Harry seemed to be thinking about something, then he pulled out "Seeing the Future Through the Mist" from his bag and did some last-minute review. Ron hurried over.
Vader smiled and looked up at the trap door of the divination classroom.
One after another, students left after the exam, some were full of confidence, while others were very frustrated.
When Ron came down, he said, "I don't know if she believes it... but maybe she can pass the exam. As long as she passes the exam, I will be satisfied..."
Then there was Harry.
Wade folded his arms and leaned against the wall, wondering what Harry would hear when he went upstairs.
In the original plot, Harry would hear a real prophecy in this exam - the unreliable Professor Trelawney predicted the reunion of Voldemort and Wormtail, and predicted that the Dark Lord would rise again.
But now, the "Wormtail" that is active outside is a puppet sent by Wade. It will probably take a long time for Voldemort to be resurrected.
Wade did not try to eavesdrop, and even if Trelawney did make an unusual prediction, Harry would not hide it from them.
Nearly half an hour passed before Wade saw Harry walking down the stairs in a daze.
"Harry?" Wade asked, "What's wrong with you?"
"Loyal servants help the Dark Lord rise again...Darkness and fog will cover the earth..." Harry murmured and repeated, raised his eyes to look at Vader, and asked: "What does this mean?"
"Professor Trelawney said so?" Wade stood up straighter and asked, "She made a real prophecy?"
"I feel so," said Harry. "She...she was a little unusual just now...I don't think she was fooling anyone..."
"Weed Grey?" Professor Trelawney's voice came from above. "It's your turn."
"Don't worry, what's going to happen will happen." Wade patted Harry and said, "Tell Dumbledore everything you heard about the prophecy. If that thing is really happening, he will definitely make arrangements. As for the rest...we can't change anything."
Then Vader walked past Harry and went upstairs.
