Chapter 560
: Arrival at the Magic School
Chapter 560: Arrival at the Magic School
"Ah, it looks like Beauxbatons is coming soon." Agilbert said, "I really miss Madame Maxime. The brandy and champagne in their school are great."
"I'm so glad we're on the same page," Dumbledore said with a smile. "And cider and absinthe. Madame Maxime always has the best."
Led by a boy, the students of Ilvermorny lined up and looked at Hogwarts curiously, while some looked up at the huge carriage.
"boom--"
Amidst a thunderous roar, a pale blue carriage landed on the ground, with the Beauxbatons emblem printed on the door.
A boy jumped out of the carriage, opened the spiral staircase, and stood respectfully beside it.
Then Madame Maxime came out. She was as tall as Hagrid, but she was pretty, elegant, dignified, and a little arrogant.
Dumbledore stepped forward and said, "Dear Madame Maxime—"
Madam Maxime stretched out a hand with many gem rings on it. Dumbledore bent down and kissed the back of her hand, saying, "Welcome to Hogwarts."
Madame Maxime glanced at Agilbert next to her and said, "I hope we are not late."
"Of course not." Dumbledore smiled and said, "Your arrival brings glory to Hogwarts."
Then, Gilbert kissed the back of the lady's hand and said, "We were the first to arrive... well, just a little earlier than you."
Madame Maxime raised her eyebrows. She didn't care who came earlier or later, but Gilbert's boastful attitude made her unhappy.
"Well... congratulations." Madame Maxime said in a nonchalant tone, waving behind her nonchalantly: "My student."
A dozen students got off the carriage. They were wearing exquisite silk uniforms and had no cloaks, so they wrapped themselves tightly in scarves. Even so, they were still shivering slightly in the cold wind.
These students first looked at Hogwarts, and then at the students from Ilvermorny nearby - there were two girls from Ilvermorny who were wearing short skirts and their faces turned blue from the cold.
"Are we the only ones here?" asked Madame Maxime.
"Yes, others may arrive at any time," said Dumbledore. "Would you like to wait here to greet them, or go in and warm up first?"
"What do you say, ma'am?" Gilbert asked politely.
"Let's get warm," said Madame Maxime. "But my horse——"
"Our Care of Magical Creatures teacher will be happy to look after them." Dumbledore waved his hand.
Hagrid, who was standing in the line of professors, was in a daze. After Professor Flitwick tapped his calf, he unconsciously took a few steps forward.
"I... I'm Rubeus Hagrid, ma'am. I'll take good care of these cute little guys."
He stammered, feeling a rush of heat to his cheeks and his ears turning red.
However, no one noticed this because of the thick and messy hair.
Hagrid regretted it now. He regretted that he was wearing his own shoddy fur coat. The tips of his shoes seemed to be covered with dirt, and his messy beard was not combed properly.
Madame Maxime was also surprised when she saw Hagrid's size, and then she said calmly, "Hello, Professor Hagrid. My horses require special care - they only drink single malt whiskey, and they need to check their reins, comb their hair, and change their hay every day."
"I understand." Hagrid said nervously, "I will... I will take care of them like my own children, I promise you!" He reached out for the reins, and perhaps because of their similar size, the rune horses felt familiar, they raised their necks, stepped back a little, and accepted Hagrid's restraint.
Madame Maxime nodded in relief, turned to her students and said, "Come on."
Gilbert also waved to the students of Ilvermorny, and the crowd at Hogwarts made way for them to enter the castle.
Before the last light blue figure disappeared from the hallway, a deafening roar cut through the sky. Everyone looked upward and saw a gigantic three-headed fire dragon dragging a long chain behind it, with a black fortress-like chariot at the other end.
Many students screamed in fear. Beauxbatons' divine horse neighed and dragged the carriage to the side, but was grabbed by Hagrid. The chariot fell to the ground with a loud bang.
The three heads of the fire dragons were all wearing dark bridles. They pushed each other, and hot smoke came out of the corners of their mouths from time to time.
The crowd involuntarily took several steps back, and cries of pain from people being stepped on were heard everywhere. Wade dodged to the side in time and reached out to grab Anthony who was about to fall. Then Terry, who was not far away, sat down on the ground again.
"What is that?" Michael asked in panic.
"Kodos Dorris," Vader said. "The magic school in Russia."
"They actually tamed fire dragons to pull carriages?" Anthony screamed.
"Calm down, boys," said Professor Flitwick hastily. "Keep your composure. The dragon won't hurt you."
Everyone looked at him, then looked up at the tall fire dragon. They always felt that the head of that creature was taller than Professor Flitwick, so they felt that his words were particularly unconvincing.
But everyone finally calmed down quickly.
The car door opened, and a burly wizard in a white bearskin coat walked out, holding a long cane in his hand.
"Good evening, Dumbledore!" the wizard boomed. "I hope all is well with you!"
"Very good, thank you, Ivan." Dumbledore smiled and said, "And you, I am glad to see you too, Gorinich."
The three ferocious dragon heads lowered their heads and looked at Dumbledore. The hot air from their mouths made the grass around them curl.
Then, a scene that made the Hogwarts students admire very much appeared - Dumbledore actually reached out and patted the nose of the dragon head in the middle, and then said something in a language that no one could understand.
The three-headed dragon rubbed Dumbledore's palm with its nose, but its huge eyes looked very gentle.
For no reason, Wade thought of some of Dumbledore's works...such as "The Twelve Uses of Dragon's Blood" or something like that.
There was a huge fire dragon in front, but almost no one noticed it. Twelve or thirteen students also lined up and walked down from the chariot.
They were tall, wearing furry Ushaka hats on their heads, with earmuffs tied at their chins on both sides, their faces covered by masks, and they were wearing heavy fur coats and animal skin boots, standing silently by.
"Dumbledore, has Karkarov arrived?" Ivan suddenly asked.
Dumbledore said, "It should be here soon."
"Oh, then I'll wait with you." Ivan said, standing beside Dumbledore and waving his hand to signal his students to take the three-headed dragon aside first.
