Chapter 620 Request
Wade had never imagined that the corridors of Hogwarts would be so crowded.
The students were all wearing dress robes that they had carefully prepared. The colorful clothes made everyone's face stand out, and their smiles were much brighter than usual.
Wade had to move aside several times to make way for the girls in long skirts. There were only two or three of them, and their fluffy skirts could take up every inch of space in the corridor.
As we all know, girls always like to act in groups.
When they reached the first floor, Michael adjusted his bow tie, waved his hand and said coolly, "Good luck, Wade, but don't get beaten... I have to go find my dear Daphne!"
A colorful stream of people gathered in the hallway, and Wade turned and walked towards the door alone.
It had just snowed during the day, and the snow outside the castle was shining like shells. The snowmen made by the students during the day stood in the open space, some of them with striped scarves around their necks.
He went out at just the right time, and after waiting for a while, he saw groups of students from Kodos Doris walking towards the castle.
Some people in the team glared at Wade, but their principal was right next to them and no one dared to make trouble in front of him, so Wade pretended not to see it.
He was always good at ignoring the insignificant people.
Natalia walked in front of the team. She was wearing a dark blue velvet dress. The hem of the skirt rippled with her steps, and the silver-gray lace shimmered like water.
She looked Vader up and down, then smiled with satisfaction and took the initiative to walk over and hold his arm.
"Great, our clothes match today." She smiled and said, "Have you been waiting in the snow for a long time?"
Wade didn't say how long he had been waiting, but said, "You can't let a girl dressed up in a fancy dress walk into the castle alone. That would be too rude."
Natalia's smile became brighter, and the tiny ice crystals on her eyelashes flickered as she moved: "You are so considerate, I guess you must have had several girlfriends."
"No, it's just that I have an experienced friend next to me." Wade said politely: "Love can be distracting. Before I graduate from school, I don't plan to establish an overly close relationship with others."
"Oh..." Natalia glanced at Wade and raised her eyebrows, "Are you afraid that I will confess to you, so you are giving me a heads-up?"
Her straightforwardness almost choked Wade. He paused for a moment, then laughed:
"I'm not that narcissistic... I'm just chatting."
Natalia glanced at Vader, with a teasing arc at the corner of her lips, as if she was just joking, but she felt a vague sense of disappointment in her heart.
She knew that the more polite this person looked, the more resolute his inner thoughts were, just like the glaciers in the Far North that never melted and would not change easily.
Then Natalia thought: But I don’t want to date him, I just want to know... if he is the one who saved my mother.
But that person was disguised as Harry Potter at the time, maybe he was doing something secret? Maybe he was even breaking the law...
In this way, even if I ask him, he probably won't tell the truth.
"Mr. Gray, Miss Petrova!"
Professor McGonagall, wearing a red robe, stood by the door and waved, "Warriors, come over here first. After the other students are seated, you can line up to enter."
Wade walked over and saw Harry. Beside him, Padma was spinning the golden bracelet on her arm and chatting with Hermione.
And Hermione was simply stunningly beautiful today - maybe it was because she usually always looked shabby, and the contrast was particularly striking after a little dressing up - in short, she looked like a completely different person.
Harry even walked up to Wade, with a mysterious look on his face, pointed at Hermione and asked, "Do you know who the girl in the blue dress is?"
Vader gave him a strange look and said, "...Hermione."
Harry was surprised. "You recognized it right away?"
"No... I looked at it at least three times before I recognized it." Wade said perfunctorily.
Harry: "..."
He was about to say something when his expression suddenly changed. He turned his eyes to the stone wall beside him, looking a little uncomfortable.
Wade looked back and saw, as expected, Cedric and Qiu Zhang were approaching.
"Harry, Wade, you're here!" Cedric greeted them enthusiastically, "Oh, Natalia, you're actually Wade's dance partner!"
"Of course!" Natalia laughed, "I thought this matter had already spread! It seems that I overestimated our importance." Everyone laughed and the originally crowded students seemed to melt and disappeared quickly from the hall. Then Professor McGonagall came over and lined up the ten warriors and their dance partners.
Afterwards, the tightly closed door of the auditorium opened again, and people filed in to the sound of applause and music.
The auditorium was also particularly gorgeous tonight, with silver frost covering the walls and a starry night sky on the ceiling;
Solidified icicles hung from the ceiling, decorating the place with a crystal clear look;
Twelve Christmas trees were decorated with glittering holly berries, golden bells, and owls;
The fairies flew around, leaving dots of fluorescent light behind them, and the armor standing around them also swayed their bodies and sang hymns.
Under everyone's gaze, the warriors sat in the empty seats closest to the teachers' seats. Wade was looking at the few extra Ministry of Magic officials sitting in the teachers' seats when he heard a soft voice from the side:
"You... hello."
He turned his head and saw that the person sitting next to him was the warrior from Beauxbatons - Clementine Durand. She had honey-colored curly hair, freckles on her face, and was not tall. Overall, she was a cute girl.
Her dance partner was a boy from Beauxbatons. He looked gentle and just stared at the plate in front of him silently, as if he didn't want to talk much.
"Hello, Miss Durand." Wade nodded.
"I want to say that you were really good in the competition, Mr. Gray." Clementine said softly, "If it weren't for your outstanding performance, I might not have had the opportunity to participate in the second event. So I want to say thank you to you."
Her dance partner immediately turned his head to look at her, and even Wade raised his eyebrows in surprise.
Out of love for Furong, many people said that Clementine's qualification to participate in the competition was picked up - although it was somewhat true, the warriors from other schools did not suffer such verbal attacks and doubts.
Most people would probably become withdrawn and sad at this time, or try desperately to prove themselves, but the meaning of this girl's words... seems to be a sense of pride?
Vader vaguely felt that he seemed to smell a hint of tea.
"No need to thank me." He smiled, "You have proven your strength by being able to pass through the fire dragon."
“That’s not the case, actually.” Clementine said embarrassedly, “The warriors in front of me had already injured the Welsh green dragon’s eyes. It can’t see, and its ears are also injured… I ran past it without much effort.”
Her partner's expression twisted slightly, but she didn't say anything to refute. Then she heard Clementine say softly:
"It was the same in the secret room... When I went in, there were no traps, and I didn't run into anyone else. Several scorpions with golden eggs were knocked down by others... When I walked in, I accidentally stepped on a golden egg."
Vader: “…”
"So, I was really lucky to get into the second project, but I'm afraid I won't be so lucky after that. I heard that the later the project, the more dangerous it will be."
Clementine clasped her hands together and said softly, "I know Mr. Grey is very smart. You must have cracked the secret of the golden egg, right? Can you give me a hint? Just a little bit will be fine!"
Before Wade could say anything, a hand suddenly reached out and pushed Clementine's head back.
"Excuse me." Natalia raised her chin and said coldly, "This is my dance partner."
Clementine was silent for a moment, then said, "I'm sorry, why don't you two change seats?"
"Okay!"
Natalia said decisively, not trying to be polite with her, she took Vader's arm and made him stand up, then sat down next to Clementine and sneered at her.
Vader, who was pushed behind the girl, said: "..."
He sighed and sat down silently.
Clementine blushed slightly, leaned forward a little, and said timidly, "Actually, I would rather discuss this with you, Miss Natalia, than with Vide Grey."
"You know that I am much weaker than you. The second task is really dangerous for me. Since we are all girls, can you help me a little?"
She looked at Natalia nervously with evasive eyes, her face full of admiration and pleading.
Natalia opened her mouth slightly, and after a while she uttered a monotonous voice:
"……what?"
