Chapter 1083
Hogwarts Security Regulations
Chapter 1083 Hogwarts Security Regulations
The lobby outside the auditorium was already packed with students.
The crowd was dense, stretching from the notice board all the way to the stairwell. Even craning their necks, the students at the back couldn't see anything and shouted anxiously:
"Let's see! What does it say on it?"
There was someone at the front reading aloud the contents of the notice board, but the surrounding area was filled with a buzzing murmur, making it difficult to hear clearly.
Before Wade even got close, he heard Dean Thomas of Gryffindor shout, "What did you say? You're not allowed to go to Hogsmeade?"
Someone shouted at the top of their lungs, "...Quiet down, let the people in front speak!"
And the shouting itself became part of the noise.
Wade and his group walked to the back of the crowd, but hesitated when they saw the throng of heads in front of them.
Ron tried to squeeze in, and the person in front of him was also jostled around, accidentally elbowing Ron and almost knocking him out of his skin.
He rubbed his chest and stopped in his tracks, feeling helpless.
Padma crossed her arms and suggested, "Why don't we just wait a little longer? We'll find out sooner or later anyway, there's no need to rush."
Wade nodded and was about to leave when he turned around and met the gaze of Colin Crevey, who was holding a camera.
For some reason, the Gryffindor boy paused for a moment, then shouted:
"Wade is here!"
Amidst the noise, his voice, like a whistle being blown, was exceptionally clear. Many people in front turned around and instinctively shouted in unison:
“Wade Gray?”
"Grey is here!"
"And Harry Potter!"
"Everyone from SSC is here!"
The sound traveled forward like waves, and a few seconds later, the lobby, which was noisier than a vegetable market, suddenly fell silent, and countless eyes turned to look at Wade.
Their eyes held a strange scrutiny and fervor.
The next second, the crowd seemed to be parted by an invisible hand, automatically making way. People on both sides, who were almost squeezed flat, now inhaled, pulled in their stomachs, and turned sideways, leaving a wide enough passage.
In an instant, Ron, who was walking in front of Wade, felt as if his scalp was about to explode.
Those gazes, directed at Wade, seemed to fall upon him as well—curious, expectant, scrutinizing, awe-inspiring, filled with jealousy, and brimming with longing.
His palms were sweating, his whole body was numb, his mind was blank, and out of the corner of his eye he saw people walking forward, and his feet moved involuntarily to follow them.
In a daze, Ron felt his legs go weak, as if he would collapse to the ground if he wasn't careful.
He stiffened his neck, his eyes darting around as if trying to see—was he the only one like this, or were others the same?
Seeing the road split open, Wade paused slightly before stepping forward.
He had long been accustomed to being the center of attention, and speaking at school assemblies with thousands of people was nothing new to him.
The SSC members instinctively followed.
Countless gazes, like spotlights, silently watched those who walked through the middle of the passage.
Hermione tried to keep a straight face, staring straight ahead, as if to say, "It's no big deal."
Harry's heart was pounding so fast he could hear his pulse thumping, and he prayed silently that no one would hear it.
Michael, with one hand in his pocket, waved to his friends with a smile, but only he knew that his legs were trembling uncontrollably beneath his robe.
Padma didn't realize she was walking next to Michael. She slightly raised her chin, a smile playing on her lips, her mind completely occupied with—
I should have combed my hair properly this morning! Is there any oil splattered on my clothes from lunch? Is there anything dirty on my face? Is my lipstick smudged?
The more she thought about it, the more she felt that she wasn't in a good state today, and she couldn't help but feel depressed.
Neville's arm hairs were standing on end. He tried his best to straighten his back, but he was walking with his arms and legs moving in unison. Theo and Ryan were at the very back of the group. They instinctively wanted to take two steps back and blend into the crowd, but the sharp-eyed Hufflepuff had already spotted them and was excitedly waiting for them to walk past.
Theo: "..."
Ryan: "..."
The two gritted their teeth, their ears ringing, and took stiff steps, avoiding looking at anyone, hoping the journey would end soon.
The journey, which took only a dozen seconds, seemed endless to everyone.
Finally, Wade, who was at the front, stopped.
He looked up and saw a huge parchment posted on the bulletin board.
The paper covered up the usual notices on the bulletin board, such as school rules, lost and found, and Quidditch match schedules, while its large, bold font proclaimed its presence.
Hogwarts Security Regulations
Below the title were rows of densely packed small characters, written like the "Code of Conduct for Primary and Secondary School Students" from his old school, even the layout was very similar.
Standing below the bulletin board was Lee Jordan of Gryffindor, who was reading the contents of the bulletin board to the students behind him.
After everyone quieted down, he suddenly felt a strange pressure and awkwardly shut his mouth.
At that moment, he was also looking at Wade, who walked straight up to him.
Wade nodded to him and said, "Excuse me, please continue."
“Oh…okay, okay,” Lee Jordan said hastily.
He turned around, cleared his throat, and simply started reading again from the beginning:
"Hogwarts Security Regulations! In order to protect..."
Wade's gaze moved from top to bottom.
In order to protect the safety of underage wizards, maintain the normal teaching order of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and prevent external forces from endangering the safety of students on campus, this regulation is specially formulated in accordance with the Ministry of Magic's Education Order No. 22.
This regulation applies to all students, faculty, staff, and related personnel at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
"That's quite an official statement. Percy Weasley is really good at writing reports," Michael muttered under his breath. After a pause, he added, "What is Education Order No. 22?"
Lee Jordan's voice traveled through the foyer and into the auditorium—
"First, all students have an obligation to strictly abide by the International Wizarding Secrecy Act to protect the personal information security of the wizarding world, Hogwarts faculty, staff and students."
Any unauthorized disclosure of another person's private information will be dealt with seriously in accordance with the relevant provisions of the International Law on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Wizards!
At the Slytherin table, Malfoy sneered, while Blaise nodded, a satisfied smile playing on his lips.
Crabbe and Gore exchanged a glance, puzzled.
“It should have been done a long time ago! Anyway, we definitely won’t leak anything,” Pansy chuckled. “Those Mudbloods should be kept in check!”
Seeing her sister frown, Daphne said unhappily, "What's wrong with you now? The secrecy law is indeed very important. In the US... wasn't it all caused by a leak?"
Astoria looked up at her sister, sighed at her foolishness and slowness, and whispered:
"But the definition of 'personal information' is too vague. Who will determine what constitutes 'privacy information'?"
"Or... if a student of Muggle descent talks about school life with their parents at home and mentions their roommate, does that also constitute a leak?"
Daphne opened her mouth for a long while before letting out an "Ah".
