Chapter 925
Aircraft Swarm Landing
Chapter 925 Aircraft Swarm Landing
Time seemed to stretch out and freeze in that moment inside the warehouse.
Everyone looked up at the paper airplanes circling overhead, their wings gleaming with a devilish red light and making a rustling sound.
The sound wasn't loud, but it pounded relentlessly on everyone's heart, drowning out their breath and overwhelming their heartbeats.
The bomb didn't fall directly, but the lingering threat of death was more nerve-wracking than an instantaneous explosion that knocked people down.
The armed men stood frozen in place, not daring to make a move, and could only look up in terror at the dark cloud of death.
The composure on Liana's face vanished, replaced by panic and helplessness.
Just then, Braun suddenly opened his eyes without warning. He stood up nonchalantly and even had time to dust himself off.
Amidst the silent, horrified gazes of the crowd, he seemed to grumble, as if still shaken:
"This method is terrifying! I almost thought I was going to die!"
He said in a light tone, "Fortunately, I knew you had this kind of thing a long time ago, so I took some small... precautions in advance."
As he spoke, a smug smile played on his lips. He opened his collar and tapped his chest twice with his knuckles, producing a clear, metallic sound!
Abigail's pupils contracted sharply as she realized that Braun was wearing a strange inner armor with a silvery-gray sheen, woven from extremely fine metal wires, with thin metal plates embedded in some places.
One of the armed men suddenly realized—no wonder the weight and feel of this guy seemed off when he lifted it up earlier!
But bringing this up again now is pointless.
"But I'm a little curious."
Braun finished dressing, straightening his collar as he asked with a smile, "Ms. Lightfoot, how did you know there was something wrong with this truck and make arrangements in advance?"
As he spoke, he glanced at Abigail.
The two men who were still holding Abigail shuddered and involuntarily released her. The woman, who was completely powerless, immediately went limp, her head still throbbing as if it were being hit by a hammer.
Despite the excruciating pain in every part of her body, Abigail's sluggish mind was unusually clear at that moment—
Once Braun confirms that she is in cahoots with Lightfoot, Abigail herself will become a target!
But she was too tired to struggle anymore and lay on the ground quietly waiting for her fate.
And Liana Lightfoot had absolutely no intention of not involving others. Just as she was about to speak, she heard the person opposite her say with a smile:
"Don't lie! Unless you're sure you can all resist the effects of truth serum... otherwise, if your stories don't match, I guarantee you'll regret your rash words."
That's a rather understated statement.
But the power of language never lies in how loudly the other person shouts or how terrible their words are, but in what they can actually achieve.
Liana hesitated for a moment, but finally admitted honestly, "The bar they went to... the bartender was one of my men."
So the entire process, from Glenn White taking Abigail out to the severely damaged car being restored and driven away, was witnessed by the bartender.
Braun sighed: "That's why I hate cities—you never know how many eyes are hiding where you can't see them."
A hoarse scream suddenly came from outside the warehouse.
Liana Lightfoot's expression changed drastically, and she instinctively took half a step back. However, before her heels even touched the ground, she suddenly heard a sharp shout:
"Don't move!"
The sound exploded at the warehouse entrance!
The next moment, figures filed in like ghosts. They were dressed in uniform dark robes, their movements swift and silent, wands held level, their tips locked onto everyone in the warehouse.
"Bang bang bang bang bang bang!"
A series of explosions rang out, and inside and outside the warehouse, all the audio equipment and instruments were reduced to scrap metal. The UMNO... have arrived!
……
De Laine stood expressionless at the entrance, his cold gaze sweeping across the room before finally settling on Braun, and said in a deep voice:
"fine?"
Braun stretched his neck, making a soft "click" sound, and his face regained its slightly cynical composure.
He grinned: "It's alright. Thank goodness you arrived in time."
Then, Braun pointed to the pale-faced Liana Lightfoot.
"This woman, from the Environmental Protection Agency, is a key contact for Prometheus; she's an important figure."
Without further orders, two UMNO members immediately stepped forward and locked Liana in a tight restraint.
She struggled weakly for a moment, but after weighing the strength of both sides, she wisely gave up resisting.
"I am a government official! I also speak with the First Lady frequently!"
As she was being led out the door, Liana trembled and shouted, "If I suddenly disappear, the US government won't act like nothing happened! Aren't you most afraid of being exposed?"
The group exchanged glances, and someone chuckled softly.
Finally, Braun kindly remarked, "An official being shot dead by robbers on his way home from get off work for fifteen dollars—that shouldn't be news in America, right?"
Liana's face immediately lost all color.
A UMNO member standing nearby, suppressing a laugh, chimed in, "No, of course not."
As the group left, another subordinate quickly approached Derain and whispered for instructions:
"Sir, what should we do with the remaining personnel? Were they all 'accidentally shot'?"
His gaze swept over the armed men who were frozen in place, pointed at by the UMNO's magic wand.
Before von De Laine could answer, Braun casually picked up the conversation, tilting his head and asking in a relaxed tone devoid of any malice:
"Is there any need to keep it? No matter how much food Grey Castle has stored, it shouldn't be wasted!"
The coldness in those words sent a chill down Abigail's spine, even though she was feeling incredibly miserable.
De Laine frowned almost imperceptibly, seemingly slightly displeased with Braun's overly blatant cruelty.
But he didn't object verbally; he simply waved his hand silently.
Swah——
The flock of paper airplanes that had been circling at the top of the warehouse suddenly swooped down, like hawks spotting a mouse, letting out an even sharper whistle!
Boom boom boom boom! ! !
The continuous explosions and blinding flashes of light instantly engulfed everything.
The wizards waved their wands, creating an invisible, transparent barrier in front of them. On one side was Prometheus, struggling and screaming in agony, and on the other side were the silent, death-like sorcerers.
When Braun pulled her up, Abigail couldn't help but shiver and almost threw him off.
