Chapter 721

Awakening

Chapter 721 Awakening
Wade woke up.

He regained consciousness in a daze, feeling as if he had had a very, very long dream. Even now, his eyelids were still as heavy as if they were filled with lead, and fragments of the long dream swirled in his mind.

Those fragmented images left him exhausted, and he almost didn't want to wake up.

I could hear the hushed whispers of conversation that were being deliberately kept quiet:

"Still not awake?"

Ferdinand's voice was a little hoarse.

Then came the rustling sound of fabric, and Fiona's reply was as soft as a sigh: "No."

“Go get some sleep, I’ll keep watch,” Ferdinand said.

Wade felt the mattress sink slightly, indicating that someone had sat down next to him.

"I'll stay here too... I don't feel tired yet."

Fiona's cool fingertips gently brushed across the hair on Vader's forehead.

Wade finally struggled to open his eyes, as if he were struggling to surface from the deep sea, and his parents' faces gradually became clear in his vision.

Ferdinand's chin was covered in stubble. He turned to get a water glass from the cabinet, but Fiona, whose eyes were red-rimmed, was the first to notice that Wade had woken up. She gasped and immediately covered her mouth with her hand.

The father turned around quickly, his hand holding the water glass trembled, and he almost dropped it.

He composed himself, reached out the water glass towards Wade, paused for a moment, then put the glass down and ruffled Wade's hair.

"You're finally awake...you silly child!"

He complained in a hoarse voice, "I slept for way too long!"

His tone made it sound as if Vader hadn't gone to confront the most dangerous Dark Lord in the magical world, exhausted his power, and fallen into a deep sleep, but rather had simply taken a nap.

Fiona gripped his hand tightly and asked anxiously, "How are you feeling? Is anything bothering you? Are you hungry?"

"I'm fine, really."

The boy's voice was a little hoarse from just waking up. He reached up and touched his throat, then looked at his palms.

His body has fully recovered, and he no longer looks like a child.

"Did Headmaster Dumbledore turn me back?" Wade asked, propping himself up on the edge of the bed.

“Yes.” Ferdinand quickly reached out to steady him, saying with lingering fear, “Luckily, Harry Potter brought that water bottle back. They were worried about transforming you too much, so they discussed it for a long time before starting the transformation. Fortunately, nothing went wrong.”

“But six-year-old Wade is so adorable!” Fiona said, seemingly with a hint of regret, before tentatively asking, “Wade, do you remember everything that happened before?”

Wade nodded: "Of course, I remember everything... After I lost consciousness, Professor Dumbledore must have arrived at the scene, right? What happened after that?"

“The UMNO members have all left,” Ferdinand said. “However, all the Death Eaters present were captured, and I heard they’ll be spending the rest of their lives in that horrific prison, Azkaban.”

"This has already been reported... Wait, let me get you the newspaper."

Fiona got up, quickly pulled out a stack of newspapers and handed them to Wade, then busied herself pouring him water.

Ferdinand stood up and said, "You keep an eye on things for now. I'll go find Mrs. Pomfrey. She said she'd give you another check-up after you wake up." His father closed the hospital room door and left. Wade's gaze first swept over the headlines on the front page of the newspaper.

The mysterious man's resurrection was met with a major setback, and Minister Fouché announced his resignation.

The following content is a retelling of the live broadcast that day.

Perhaps because the audience had witnessed the entire event, the reporter did not show off his writing skills or pose any questions in the article. Instead, he subtly satirized Cornelius Fudge, who resigned in a crisis, and compared him to the previously tough yet enlightened Minister Milison Bagno.

Vader also saw the results of the magic school league on the second page.

Because he brought a large number of puppets with him when he participated in the competition, some judges believed that he should be disqualified.

However, many judges believed that Wade's actions were justified, and that the rules of the competition were that "the first warrior to touch the Goblet of Fire wins," and that Wade Gray's actions before touching the Goblet of Fire were in accordance with the rules.

As for what happened afterward, that was an "accident" outside of the competition and had nothing to do with the league's selection process. It cannot be used to negate the rules of the competition or interfere with the league's results.

In the end, Wade Grey and Harry Potter were tied for first place, splitting the 3000 Galleons prize.

However, due to various unforeseen circumstances, the final awards ceremony of the league was cancelled, and the Ministry of Magic only published the final results in the newspaper.

While Wade was unconscious for several days, the warriors from the other schools had all recovered from their injuries and returned to their respective schools with the professor. As for Clementine, who later encountered the trophy, she was found severely injured but fortunately still alive and was sent to St. Mungo's that same day.

“The girl named Natalia left you a letter.”

Seeing that he had read this part, Fiona sat on the edge of the bed and chuckled softly, "She said you're welcome to visit Cordos Doris in the future."

"And those kids like Diggory, Krum, and Weaving all said that although they were very unwilling, they still wanted to thank you for eliminating them."

"The newspapers don't seem to have mentioned anything about how to deal with Voldemort afterward?"

Vader asked in surprise, "The Ministry of Magic's defense strategies, security plans, warnings to everyone to guard against dark magic, and the requirement to report any unusual situations immediately... where are these?"

Fiona paused, looking confused and puzzled, and said, "Is it necessary? All the Death Eaters have been captured, and the Mystic is dead again... Your plan, though risky, does allow peace in the wizarding world to continue... Everyone's lives shouldn't need to change, right?"

Her voice trailed off, and finally, looking at Wade, she whispered, "Am I... wrong?"

"...No, nothing's wrong."

Wade lowered his eyes, folded the newspaper, and then smiled, "Is there anything to eat? I'm actually feeling a bit hungry."

Fiona smiled again and quickly said, "Of course! I've already prepared it for you... Would you like a sandwich or pizza?"

Before Wade could even eat, the door was pushed open again, with Ferdinand followed by Madam Pomfrey and Dumbledore, and a large group of people crowding the entrance.

"Please don't rush, ladies and gentlemen."

As Mrs. Pomfrey hurried in, she turned to Harry, Michael, and the others standing at the door and said, "Don't disturb the patient, let me examine him first! And you, Albus, you wait too!"

Dumbledore had no choice but to stop and give Wade a comforting smile from afar.

Wade couldn't help but laugh, feeling instantly relieved.
