Chapter 184
: Second "Journey" with Dumbledore
Chapter 184: Second "Journey" with Dumbledore
At eight o'clock in the evening, Wade came to the principal's office and the ugly stone monster tilted its head and stared at him.
"Shortbread," said Wade.
The stone beasts made way, and Wade climbed the spiral staircase, slowly ascending it, and then saw the oak door with a brass knocker.
Wade knocked on the doorknob, and the door opened quietly. He walked in and saw Dumbledore in the room, bending over something. There was a large table in front of him, and the Sorting Hat was placed next to it.
The walls were covered with portraits of former principals, and when Wade walked in, he heard them all talking loudly.
When the door opened, all the sounds disappeared and the portraits all looked towards him.
If it weren't for the fact that the principal's office was as bright as day and the warm light of the never-extinguished candles was not emitting, the scene would have looked a bit scary.
Dumbledore's phoenix stood on the brass ring from which the candles were hung. Compared to last year, it was old and had fewer feathers, and looked almost dead.
"Oh, Vader, you're on time."
Dumbledore stood up and said, "Come and see, I got a very interesting toy today."
"Good evening, Professor Dumbledore. This is..."
Wade said as he walked over and saw that there were several magical pets on the table.
There are little phoenixes, fire dragons, Pegasus and a Riem cow, some are drinking water, some are playing, and some are resting. Each pet has a delicate nest.
A wizard of the same size wearing a pointed hat lives with them, and next to them is a mushroom house that has a fairy-tale atmosphere, with even a faint white smoke coming out of the chimney.
They seemed to live in a real village.
The wizard was arguing with the dragon—
Fire Dragon: "Move forward a little, I have no room!"
Wizard: "I was here first, you go over there!"
Fire Dragon: "You need more space! Just squeeze in!"
Wizard: "Okay, okay, I'll give you all the space now!"
The thumb-sized wizard walked over angrily, and the fire dragon came over with a silly smile and apologized.
Ruiemuniu also tried to smooth things over: "Alright, alright, stop arguing. It's because the owner gave us too little space, otherwise we wouldn't have to squeeze so much."
"If I had money, I would like a nest made of gold." Phoenix said sadly: "This wooden house always looks like it will burn down, and I dare not move."
Pegasus: "ZZZ..."
"Please don't make things difficult for the master!" said the fire dragon, "It's not his fault that he has no money. He has worked hard to provide us with a good environment. Master, don't be sad. I still love you!"
It looked up at Dumbledore and nodded politely to Wade: "Hello, little wizard."
Dumbledore couldn't help laughing as he stroked his beautiful beard, which was tied in a bow.
"Look at these cute little guys. They add a lot of fun to my life." Dumbledore said, "I heard that this is your invention?"
"Yes." Vader replied briefly.
"Excellent, Wade... It's a pleasant surprise. Fawkes and the Sorting Hat like it too. They can chat with these little guys all day long..."
Dumbledore said with a little distress: "They always like to hint that I should buy things for them. Is there any solution?"
Vader: "…I'm sorry, Professor. The personalities of pets are formed when they are created, so it's not impossible to change them. But that would be equivalent to killing the current one."
Upon hearing this, the mini pets immediately hid back in their own houses, with the Reem Cow leaving only its butt outside;
The fire dragon and the wizard lying on the lawn no longer cared about their quarrel. They hugged each other and trembled, looking at the two with terrified and pleading eyes.
"No...don't..." The wizard said tremblingly: "I don't want to die..."
The dragon nodded vigorously. "Forget it then." Dumbledore said, "In fact, the current character of the money-grubber is quite interesting."
The pets all breathed a sigh of relief, and after a while, they began to play without worry again.
"Ravenclaw is pretty good, isn't it? I still remember the scene when you told me you wanted to go to Hufflepuff."
The Sorting Hat suddenly said, "But I believe I have placed you in the most suitable house, Weed Grey. You are a natural Ravenclaw."
"Thank you." Wade said unhappily, "But I believe that even if I am in Hufflepuff, I can still achieve something. Knowledge will not be different because of the house."
The Sorting Hat fell silent, its tip twisting slightly, giving the impression that it was thinking about how to refute.
Fawkes suddenly made a "ga" sound, as if mocking the Sorting Hat, and then a few feathers fell from its tail. Wade caught them and put them on the table.
"You can keep it."
Dumbledore said: "Phoenix tail feathers are very useful for making wands, brewing potions or alchemy. Although Fawkes looks scary, his tail feathers still contain powerful power."
"Thank you, Professor. And of course, thank you, Fox."
Without pretending to be polite, Wade put away the phoenix tail feather, and a series of precious potions or alchemical products flashed through his mind.
"You're welcome." Dumbledore said, "I look forward to more surprises and changes from you. I guess Terence thinks the same way."
Terence is Professor Murray's first name.
"What do you want to see me about, Professor?" Wade asked.
He didn't think deliberately about what he had done recently, but before coming, he was mentally prepared.
Since the traces of burning in Little Hangleton Village had been reported in the newspapers, Dumbledore certainly could not have been concealed from him.
The old headmaster had just taken Wade for a tour there not long ago, and then the old Gaunt house was burned down. It was normal to have some suspicions about this.
Or perhaps Lupin got a glimpse of the secret of the Horcruxes from the two actions and dared not hide it anymore, so he reported it to Dumbledore.
Lupin was once a member of the Order of the Phoenix, so it was natural for him to trust Dumbledore more than Vader, and Vader could also understand it.
Vader stood with his hands on the edge of the table in a relaxed posture, waiting for an answer.
Dumbledore smiled faintly and said gently, "I guess you still remember the last time we visited that old friend?"
"Of course." Wade nodded: "Voldemort's growth process is impressive. As a half-blood, he has always emphasized the theory of pure blood. This is what surprised me the most."
"Because he hates the Muggle half of his blood. At the same time, he needs to use this to attract like-minded followers and build his own power." Dumbledore explained.
"Then why don't you disclose his background in the newspaper?" Wade asked, "His followers have been advocating the glory of pure blood. If they knew that their master was actually a half-blood..."
Vader said nothing more, but the meaning was clear.
Dumbledore couldn't help laughing, and there was even a hint of doting in his deep eyes, as if Wade was a naive and foolish child.
Vader pursed his lips in displeasure, realizing that he had asked a very stupid question.
Dumbledore said: "Although few people know that Voldemort was formerly known as Tom Riddle, in fact, he did not deliberately conceal his background."
"His earliest followers, and the core Death Eaters, knew that Voldemort had a shameful background and a Muggle father, and that he killed his father himself."
"Voldemort himself was not shy about mentioning these things. He relied on powerful magical powers to conquer his many followers. He believed that he was born different and regarded Muggles as inferior creatures. He did not think that he was of the same race as them."
"This fact did not impact the Death Eaters. They never mentioned Voldemort's half-bloodline, and even claimed that he was a pure-blood Slytherin descendant because they did not want their leader to have such a stain."
"Voldemort ruled wizards with the pure-blood theory and did not approve of Muggle-borns. This was his philosophy. And today, I want to take you to visit another old friend."
Dumbledore held out his hand.
"Want to start traveling again, Vader?"
