Chapter 641
Breaking Through the Water
Chapter 641 Breaking Through the Water
"Wow, that's amazing! No wonder he's Wade Gray!"
Clementine wiped the water from her face, knelt on the bank, and Mrs. Pomfrey draped a warm blanket over her.
The girl wrapped herself tightly in the blanket, her lips turning blue from the cold, but she still smiled and said:
"I deliberately chose the most tricky angle to ambush you, but you still managed to dodge it! Where are Miss Kitajima and Adam?"
Wade didn't answer. Seeing that there was no chance to drag her back down, he wasn't discouraged. He simply cast a spell to restore himself to his original form.
A moment later, the fish tail transformed into legs, the scales turned back into trousers, and the gills on both sides of the cheeks disappeared as if they had blended into the skin.
He emerged from the lake, dripping wet, and walked step by step toward the shore.
Clementine's gaze swept up and down, adopting an openly admiring expression, while her face still wore that slightly shy and embarrassed smile.
Vader didn't bother to look at her. As soon as he got close to the shore, Madam Pomfrey grabbed him and then a blanket came down from the sky, wrapping him up completely. Immediately afterward, a bottle of pungent potion was shoved into his mouth.
"Drink this quickly!" Madam Pomfrey said hastily. "Making students stay underwater for hours on end, and even risk their lives! Dumbledore must be insane to agree to such a competition!"
Sometimes, Madam Pomfrey's intimidating presence can even surpass that of Professor McGonagall—especially when she starts nagging about your safety, and even Snape doesn't dare to say a word.
Wade didn't say anything, obediently drinking the bottle of fiery potion, and immediately several wisps of hot air came out of his ears.
"Alright, your match is over," Mrs. Pomfrey said in a relatively gentle tone. "Go and rest in that tent over there for a while."
“I’d like to see how the other players fared,” Wade said.
Clementine raised her hand and said, "Me too."
Mrs. Pomfrey's stern gaze swept over the two men, and seeing that they were both in good spirits, she did not insist and hurried away.
Vader casually found an open space to sit down, placed the two extra wands on the ground, and looked at the Mirror of Flow.
Clementine then sat down next to him, hands on the ground, looking up at the screen, and sighed, "What bad luck... If I had mastered the Silent Charm, maybe I would still have a chance?"
In the video, after a moment of silence, Kitajima Tachibana and Adam Cagney begin to struggle, but not with great force; it looks more like the two of them are trembling along with the algae.
Therefore, they were slow to break free of their restraints, behaving as helplessly as most wizards who had lost their wands.
"not that simple."
Wade finally spoke up, saying softly, "In water, the pressure increases by one atmosphere for every 10 meters of descent. They're at a depth of over forty meters..."
He paused for a moment before continuing:
"The pressure of the lake water will cause them eardrum pain, impair their judgment, and induce a state similar to drunkenness. They might not even be able to remember what spell to use now."
"So that's why you dragged them into such deep water?"
Clementine moved closer, looking curiously into his eyes, and asked, "How did you know all this? Did you... sneak into the depths of the Black Lake to search for treasure before?"
“How could I do that?” Wade said. “There are many dangerous creatures in the Black Lake. No one in their right mind would go in there.”
"Then I must be out of my mind?" Clementine grinned. "If I could become a mermaid, I'd want to swim in every sea. I'd go to places no one else has been and see sights no one else has ever seen!"
Wade couldn't help but turn his head and glance at her.
The girl who had shamelessly attacked him earlier now had bright, sparkling eyes, as if they held the light of an ideal.
Not far away, several Aurors were already riding brooms on the lake, occasionally checking the time and then looking towards the referee's box.
Most people's eyes remained fixed on the camera.
Wizards generally only know the scenery from high above, but are unaware of the invisible threat of deep-sea pressure, so they find the two's powerless struggle quite strange.
"Why didn't Adam use the Cutting Charm?" Stella of Iphamoni clenched her fists anxiously. "Sever the algae belt and come out!"
"A burning spell, an explosion spell, or even a dispelling spell for a binding spell will do!" The students at the magic institute chimed in, "Any spell will do, let's get out of this predicament first!" Unfortunately, the two people in the water couldn't hear their advice. After struggling for a while, Adam, who could only move freely underwater thanks to his Muggle scuba gear, gradually ran out of oxygen and suddenly began to convulse violently.
His oxygen cylinder was hidden somewhere underwater and couldn't be brought over instantly. Under the stress and intense activity, the oxygen consumption in the cylinder increased significantly.
On the other side, Kitajima Tachibana looked at his suddenly bulging, angry eyes and desperate gaze, and instantly understood.
She gritted her teeth, looking at the seemingly endless black algae around her, and her mind suddenly became exceptionally clear—
It is unlikely that any warriors will be able to return to shore in the short term.
Even if someone were to return and discover the two of them almost completely buried by the algae, the chances of that happening are virtually zero.
In this situation, there's only one way...
Kitajima Tachibana glanced at the small blue fish filming the two of them not far away, tilted her head back, took a deep breath, and felt her magic power surge within her.
"Snapped!"
The bubbles enveloping her head suddenly burst, and the lake water instantly kissed the girl's pale face.
Two sparks flew from the referee's table.
Lady Fujiwara's face was ashen, while Gilbert of Iphamoni sighed helplessly.
The Aurors waved their wands, and in a moment, a surge of lake water, like a volcano erupting from the lakebed, swept the two of them out of the water. In mid-air, they were caught by their respective headmasters waving their wands.
"Well--"
Adam and Kitajima Tachibana both snorted at the same time, spitting out a mouthful of bloody foam, and a stream of warm blood also welled up from their noses.
When they hit the ground, they convulsed like dehydrated fish, and spiderweb-like red marks appeared on their skin.
"My God!" someone in the audience exclaimed, "What kind of magic caused this? I've never seen such a terrible injury before!"
Bagman opened his mouth—his lines had been stolen!
At the same time, Clementine asked in surprise, "What's going on?"
She secretly sized up Wade, unable to believe that he would use such terrifying dark magic in full view of everyone—those two guys looked like they were about to die!
On the referee's table, and among the nearby Auror teams, many dangerous gazes were fixed on Wade.
“This is not magic,” Wade said calmly and clearly. “Rising rapidly from tens of meters underwater, the water pressure drops by eighty percent in just a few seconds. Gases that were originally dissolved in the blood will quickly precipitate out and form bubbles, which are rampaging through their blood vessels.”
Clementine thought for a moment, tilted her head and said, "Although I didn't understand, to put it simply... isn't it like suddenly opening a shaken beer bottle?"
She suddenly spread her fingers and made a "thump" sound.
Wade nodded: "That's pretty much the idea."
The unfriendly gazes shifted away from him, but the Auror who had just participated in the "rescue (murder)" looked embarrassed and somewhat suspicious.
Wade hadn't expected the Aurors from the Ministry of Magic to use such brutal methods for their "rescue." If those two hadn't been wizards, they might have even died from their lungs bursting from that blow.
Of course, in the magical world, the only change is that Madam Pomfrey no longer checks what evil magic they've been afflicted with, but instead uses a potion that emits purple smoke.
"Drink it! With injuries like this... you'll need to stay at the school hospital for at least two days."
With a look of pity, Madam Pomfrey looked at the two whose pupils were beginning to dilate, and with a wave of her wand, brought the crystal bottle to their lips.
One update tonight
